Played a whole bunch, leveled things I'd been avoiding (and got much better with them in the process), enjoyed myself immensely, converted 25k xp. I think I actually got more out of this event than many other previously, in terms of re-engagement with the game, getting better, and enjoying myself.
Some of the arguments over whether the conversions are worth it seem silly:

If on the other hand someone interpreted the table as 'you should now play as much as you can and then spend MC just to get these rewards', then that seems to be a misunderstanding of what this event was about (to me anyway).

You have a very good understanding of this event. The problem comes from entitled people who feel that every aspect of every event has to be applicable to them, or the event is bad.
I really liked this event because it was a double XP weekend with added bonuses that were not there before. I got a few Mechs leveled up, converted some excess Mauler XP to GXP for unlocking modules, and was given a bunch of free stuff for it.
I am not complaining about being given free stuff that I would not have received otherwise. Others should follow suit. If you want to complain about something, then complain about something negative, not something positive.
Try to make sure your complaint is properly anchored in context, too. Saying this event is the "worst event ever" or worse than normal Double XP Weekends means your focus is 100% on your ability to reap all the rewards for the entire event. So, make that clear in your complaint.
Make sure to specify that you deserve to win every reward in the entire event, because we need to know how special you are.
