Well, it would certainly help the poor Lynx and it would be a no-brainer if inside the timeline (it's from 3061).

(hint: It's a -P variant. PGI makes up fake -P variants all the time to suit their needs. So this doesn't have to be the exact lore loadout nor does it have to be in timeline... because ... well, it's a -P variant.)

I know! But if PGI does time leaps, we will get there (I mean, 3061). This variant might still feature in the game in it's canonical form.

An inveterate pop-tarter & side-peeker, the wily Misty B boasts a surprising 37 Firepower, sporting 3 C-ERMLs & 2 C-SRM-4s.

Spritely maneuvering to finish the slow & weak, the Misty B wins the electronic war by unmasking & hounding ECMed infiltrators & influences the long game by locking targets out of range to others.

Having discharged its missiles into enemy steel, the resourceful Misty B's day is hardly done. Transforming into a mobile flanker, it coolly delivers sustained mid-range laser fire while capping, base defending & ever galloping to the aid of its bigger brothers.

25t Mist Lynx MLX-B
3 C-ERMLs, 2 C-SRM-4s w/1.5t ammo (18.75 volleys), Clan Active Probe, 37 FP
XL175 (121.9kph), 6/6 jjs (62.44m)
172/178 ff, es, 10 dhs (28% cool effic, 41% after SRMs are depleted)

Note: This build is fundamentally the same as Leone's, but has slightly different armor allocations (rear side torsos can take a shot from an IS SL, rear center torso from an IS ML) & the ammo is placed in the RT, to increase the chance of some RA-mounted weapons surviving as others are critted.

I enjoy flying around in my Mist Lynx and what seems to do the best for me is this:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...deebb552fc7167a

You have your ECM and almost full armor along with a long range poking weapon and a fast short range weapon. I have single handedly taken out a Dire Wolf with a Raven (Sniper) build helper with ease. Don't knock the pinpoint damage you can do and carve away the enemy components.

Also the reason to take a Small over a Medium is heat and how quick a small can shoot. You really only use the small when you are fighting up close and the ER Small do the same damage as an IS Medium.

Too much rear armor... I would also take some armor from the head and return it to the legs.

my personal favourite:
4 ER Small lasers (as good as IS med lasers), 5 DHS, Targeting Computer 2, max Armour.
it is well suited to keep firing, running, jumping and almost noob safe (cant help people standing still in front of a dire with it.)

Why would anyone spend money on a champion Lynx, let alone a new player is beyond my imagination, but I feel compelled to post this build I actually use and have good matches with. (Mist Lynx-level good anyway)

Hmm, that is tough - personally the stock Prime and stock D variant has been fun for me. Armor doesn't do a "Drizzle Kitten" any good: you get shot, you die. I frequently shave another ton of armor off each one I play (may not be the best for a trial version).

A variant with ERMlas?

Prime variant SRM10/MG's
[smurfy]http://mwo.smurfy-ne...e70b4a2c213db57[/smurfy]

should give a good example for my Kittehs!

Not to mention the recent and outrageous timeline violation they made with the Kodiak 2-5, at this point I don't think timeline is even a factor anymore in this game.

I feel as if this build may require some explanation

it carries a heat efficient combination of two Small Pulse Lasers and two Machineguns. It is intended to be spammed as much as possible. Ammo is hardly a concern and it does not matter whether or not machineguns are hitting armor or structure, because they are paired with small-pulse lasers.

Meanwhile, the Streak SRM-6 whittles down enemy armor from a greater distance. It can be used with jump jets to clear obstacles and ensure a direct hit.

I've made a video demonstration for this build. The quality sucks, I know.

Simple in-your-face-Mech for Newbees. Very heat-efficient and simple weapon.loadout so they can have fast and
simple action without worrying too much about the finer details of mech-piloting when facing other lights.
This MEch is tailored towards T5 gameplay.

I always prefer to run brawlly builds in my lights, so here is my two cents.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6ef8af98ea9bb76
It offers a nice burst alpha strike, making it optimum for hit & run strikes and perhaps assassinating unsuspecting assault 'mechs. It's heat efficiency is pretty good, too.

MLX-PRIME

I've had a lot of fun playing this one. It's like a smaller, more agile Huginn with longer range (2x ERML). The flamer is great fun for blinding opponents and shutting them down while you are pelting them with SRMs.
