Fairly happy with this symmetrical one, but a bit hot if using the lasers constantly.
4x ERML
2x UCA5 (5t ammo)
2x SRM6 (3t ammo)

Not much of a tweak to the Gauss, ERML, 2x LPL builds, just dropping the ERML for an ERSL - so it's a Gauss, ERSL, 2x LPL build

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...be7409f8a55791f

Not something I've ever used, but it tweaks some I have used to fit what appears to be a rather popular design

Then there's my favourite build and by far my hottest EBJ - Gauss, ERSL, 2x ERPPC

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...382bfc68b594829

I really wish I could drop the ERSL and just have the ERPPCs in the high mounts, but oh well!

This thing is downright evil if you can get a good position

Finally the hotter but easier to manage Gauss, 2x ERLL, 3x ERML

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a77b0ec96c331bc

Figured it was best to keep all the hot weapons on one side

Excellent Support Jag: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1933b582368f74e

DPS: 5.63
Alpha: 59
Armor: 384

-UAC/5 x2
-ERML x3
-SRM6 x1
-SRM4 x2
-AMS x1

If you stick next to a mech of equal or greater power you can take on a LOT together. My roommate mostly runs Assault Mechs and I run with him. Last night alone on multiple occasions we took on 4 - 5 members of the enemy team at once and came out on top every time. Only had a handful of games with it where I do under 600 damage, and this setup alone brought my overall kd from 0.7 to 1.0.

The AMS can be switched out for another heatsink to bring the DPS up to 6.0

Ebon-Jaguar for Newbees , simple loadout, very heat efficient so Newbbes don't have to worry to much about
the details. This mech is tailored towards T5-Gameplay.

This is my CW EBJ build. It is 2xUAC10 and 2xMPL and max armor.

I'm seeing some EBJ builds with 5 ERSL or 3 ERML and frankly I think those are pretty good options as well.
I choose this in the odd match there are LRMs or AC/2 boats so I can use the odd torso to soak damage.

Frankly though I see much merit in ignoring the usual torso-soaking strat as an experienced player can easily see all your guns are on one side, and disarm you. Still, hitting CT on this thing is ridiculously easy so 999 times out of 1,000, I end through CT and soak some damage on the other torso, especially in public matches.

I'm happy with this build. You can stay back and keep laying down fire on your enemies with two ER-PPC's and if they get too close you still have a U-AC-5 and 2 ER- MED lasers.

This is a very cool build I had a lot of fun with, and it's even newbie friendly I think:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1e81bf2535623e8

And this one, it may not be the best for a new guy since it requires a bit of heat management, but I leave the link so you can try it out, trust me is loads of fun too:

Four Medium Pulse Lasers, and two Artemis SRM6's.
A close-range 'mech with good heat efficiency and excellent damage capacity - both a requirement for players who are trying to pick up the chassis from scratch, or are shopping the 'mech for a possible purchase.

how about something new? i have used the pair plenty and they work really well.
2x UAC/5 w3.5t + 2x C-ERPPC

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...80685a8cc89b646

arm mounted dakka for range of motion, ST mounted PPC for longevity, weapons are spread to prevent a catastrophic loss of firepower.

two weapon groups, three recommended for chain fire of the ppc, uac/5's give sustained fire during high heat @175% eff BEFORE SKILLS.

weaponvelocity match for simple aim and lead, UAC can be used as tracers, long+mid range focus.

ALT;
simple mod pulling out a 1/2 ton of ammo to push the PPC into the high LT mount.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6837aafb6eebac0

this build is favorable to teach players to target lead as well as how weapons can compliment one another.
