how about something new? i have used the pair plenty and they work really well.
2x UAC/5 w3.5t + 2x C-ERPPC

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...80685a8cc89b646

arm mounted dakka for range of motion, ST mounted PPC for longevity, weapons are spread to prevent a catastrophic loss of firepower.

two weapon groups, three recommended for chain fire of the ppc, uac/5's give sustained fire during high heat @175% eff BEFORE SKILLS.

weaponvelocity match for simple aim and lead, UAC can be used as tracers, long+mid range focus.

ALT;
simple mod pulling out a 1/2 ton of ammo to push the PPC into the high LT mount.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6837aafb6eebac0

this build is favorable to teach players to target lead as well as how weapons can compliment one another.

did i mention how good it looks!?

Very fun, well balanced build. UAC15 is a lot of fun!

Saw this post and i was like 'oh i can help some new players with some great builds' then i remembered the last 1000000000 CW games I played with and against the notorious PUG. In the new PGI Spirit of listening to the community, i decided to try it myself.

Well I listened Long and attentively to the PUG and this is the build he wants to Pilot;

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...3f287145ef64fef

When you have cored out your Opponent with your Support launchers you can then kill them quickly with the extra crit Chance from the LBX, should you run out of lrm ammo - you have an ERPPC to continue your Support to the Team, if a light gets under your lrm range you can suprise them with your small lasers, extra heatsink included for Maximum damage per second.

Armour values allow you to take Maximum damage from any direction

you too can be getting 700 damage in CW, just listen to the community!

EBJ-A The Hammer

This has been a fun brawler build I have been running. 1xCUA20, 6xCSPL, TC1. Has got a mean alpha, you just need to manage your heat and not fire too many alphas in a row.

I think you're making a mistake here. See, I've listened to a well-season pug in my day as well, and I've heard that he wants two different LRM sizes for a number of reasons:

- The LRM-10 is more pinpoint and does the damage where it matters
- The LRM-15 looks scarier, so it is more likely to suppress the enemy
- The cooldown timers are different, so you can establish a chain of continuous LRM streams
- The saved tonnage allows you to mount an AMS instead, which is actually much more important
- As this player wishes to stay in the back firing LRM and PPC, I've provided him with a full ton of AMS ammo in exchange for some LRM ammo. Remember, teamwork is important!

EBJ-PRIME

Build is designed for newer players as heat is not an issue, runs plenty of ammo and is great in up close brawls, helping push new players towards cover oriented tactics while closing.

Might want to fix your problem of very very low armor values on CT and L/RT.... and legs to some extent.

The heat is nice but the EBJ already suffers from a large CT, leaving 34 armor points off of said CT is not a good idea.

this is my personal favorite for EBJs, i don't like the peekaboo method of the initial combat engagement, so i built a mech to make use of peoples weakened armor to crack leftover armor, then crit the insides to bits.

heat needs marginal amounts of managements but it's fairly straight forward. you guard flanks until the fight gets about halfway done. trying to take as little damage as possible, specifically guarding assaults/boats from lights and eager flankers. once thats done and the fight gets to about 3-4 mechs down (either side) you close distance and let em have it.

3 firegroups set,
large lasers on button one, on the arms so quite obviously low set, poor peeking ability.
LBX-10 on button 2 used on open or red armor, set OVER cockpit on shoulder, so can be used over cover
button 3 is combined srm6 machine guns and small lasers. used ONLY on open armor. waste of heat and ammunition otherwise.

i'll reiterate my earlier statement, this is a flank side brawler used to FINISH a fight, NOT to start it. but it EXCELS in this role.

if you find your ammo is a little low you CAN drop a heatsink or two for some more ammo, but i find it is a good amount, if used where it should be.

Good build, exactly for the 4-button mouse that everyone surely has.

I vote for the standard laser vomit build. (2LPL, 4ML)

However, you haven't lived until you've mastered the WubJag. :D

Nothing says "back down!" like 8CMPL.

EBJ-C [4x C-LRM 15 + ARTEMIS + 1,890 Ammo]

This works well as a missile only Mech, and have the speed to re-position well if caught out of position. The Artemis does encourage line of sight to add increased torso damage and the heat is not an issue. The high DPS is a result of good heat management and high overall firepower. And these are things a new player will want. It also has only one focus so a new player does not get distracted by different weapon systems or learning how to use Gauss Rifles. The ammunition only reliance of this Mech is its only downfall, though 1,890 rounds will last most engagements, and it if does run out the pilot has significantly contributed to the battle.

NOTE this is built on a STOCK FRAME unlike almost all those presented here.

Not a fan of LRM boats, but if you insist, its not just about firepower.

Example

At the cost of a little ammo and armor, added a TAG and Active Probe. Two very useful tools in maximizing the effectiveness of your missiles. The TAG in particular will hopefully encourage players to take a more active role rather than just waiting for locks from other players, while also helping against targets with ECM. Also spread out ammo to reduce risk of devastating ST crits (I rarely see the arms destroyed on my EBJs) and moved some of the armor forward, since there is little reason you need that much back armor if you stay at a reasonable distance.

Of course, this build is still utterly vulnerable against fast lights, so good positioning is essential.

Can we please stop posting quirky, niche mech builds? remember these champion builds are what our clan newbs will be bringing to CW, please kit them vote for the options you'd be happy to see in that arena, as that's where it will affect you most.

Stormie if you are referring to my suggestion, it is quite unclear. My submission is simple and as stated in it, allows the new pilot to focus on a single role on the battlefield and not have to mix and match ranges or weapon systems. If you look at the origional Catapult-A1(C) it was a hybrid build that could not brawl with its 4xSSRM and lacked the LRM ammo for its LRM15's because of its hybrid nature. The current Catapult-A1(C) is even worse with the SRM6 and Artemis that the ammunition count for its lone range missiles is 1080.

I have tried to keep in a single Mech without substituting omni parts for the build. TAG and Artemis works very well together to increase the damage and greatly speed up the time it takes to obtain a target lock for the missiles. Though I am not a fan of clan long range missile systems this will be a force on the battle field and scare anyone who is out in the open. Give the new pilots a chance and other pilots that do not play missile Mechs a go at a serious support Mech.

The reason why I dislike the Clan missiles is the stream effect where IS missile systems all hit at once and are less affected by AMS on the battlefield.

the Timber already does laser vomit, and the Ebon has more free tonnage, but can equip less heatsyncs.

that means...

my suggested build 2xUac/5 + 2xERPPC (obvious plug)
or

3xUAC/5

or

2xUac/10

simple effective DPS builds.
