They advance the timeline and tech and introduce new weapons and new mechs mounting those weapons that you "OMG, they're so OP" gotta have in order to compete with others online because your old weapons are nerfed and the new weapons are not. Go go power creep. Competition will always fuel $$$ to PGI. It's the formula for F2P games.

But even then, there's a ceiling to how many mechs are available, and I'm old (well...40): I just want to play the mechs I remember - there's passably few of those left for PGI to make. Granted, if they whip out some incredible model I might be convinced, but that list I had there (Hatchetman, Assassin, maybe Thug and Axman) is really it. Outside of those four mechs, I'm not really interested in any others.

I'm not talking about everyone, just me. I want this game to keep rolling, I like the direction PGI's headed with it and I like the game itself, but as far as me giving them money, there's not much else for me to buy. So I'm not paying PGI not because I'm unsatisfied with the game, but because they've run out of things to sell me.

So you want us to motivate you into buying the mech pack?

Just imagine a dominatrix with a Russian accent is ordering you to buy it. "Do it for mother Russia!"

There are people on this forum who have literally spent thousands of dollars on this game. With Whales as whaley as that I'm not sure if a few individuals could have enough impact to make Pea Gee Eye re-evaluate their strategies. It's kinda sad, really. :\

What I'm trying to say is that PGI is as PGI does.

The Phoenix pack was the last one I bought. The Clan mechs were to be released before any persistent faction-based game modes that had been promised since forever, so I said Not One Penny Extra until they got their **** together. Still waiting (because what they call Faction Play is just Deathmatch with Planet Points). And I'm content with waiting until the chassis are available for c-bills. Makes it feel like I actually earned them that way.

I hold no illusions that PGI will ever notice my lack of purchases or change their minds because of me, but that's entirely beside the point.

Money vs. Enjoyment.
That is the question you need to ask yourself.
I decided I enjoyed the game despite the grief and crap it can cause.
Is what I thought it could be?
Well partially, but my fun meter is tilted toward the fun side.
Yeah big stompy robots.
If we could just get tanks and aerofighters a new era would arise for Mechwarrior, PGI and us.

That should be reason enough for the $20 job, I think.
Quad cUAC10s on a frame that can mount FF and Endo would be another.

For me, the fact that Russ gave me FOUR HOURS of his free Friday Night time for this recent Townhall is good reason to give him the atta boy of a $20+ purchase.
Lets face it, you may not agree with what he said, or like where he's going, but you can't deny that he (and PGI) is trying to give us something we like. That's good enough for me to support them.

Unless PGI is releasing the Axman next month, I'll wait for CW Phase 3 to see if I want to spend more money.

Vote with your wallet, indeed.

They had me at "The Mauler" .... I haven't bought anything since despite the temptation. CW Phase 3 is what I am trying to wait for.

Sometime back(around the announcement of the Rifleman) I decided I was done giving PGI money due to some of the crappy decisions PGI had been making over the last 6 months or so. As such I didn't buy the Rifleman, nor the Archer(Posted Image) even though I really like the mech.

Now enters the Kodiak...

What I need is for someone to convince me to have a moratorium on my decision to no longer give them money so I can justify buying that mech because damn it I have always loved that mech and I think they have done a good job with it even with that silly sunken whack a mole head.

Okay.

Entry level package. A trio of 100 ton Assault Mechs decked out in full Clan Tech (DHS, Clan XL400, Clan weapons), with 4 modules (worth more than 12 mil) and 6.5 million C-Bills... And some premium time for $20.

That's $20 for about 75 million C-Bills worth of stuff, and that "stuff" is Kodiaks.

I got it... And I got the hero, too, for the hardpoint variation. Don't care for the extra variants or special collector versions, though. But the base pack is a great deal.

Did i say they were kodiaks?

I think it depends on what decisions prevent you from buying them in the first place.
I honestly, can't put my mind on anything really heinous PGI has done recently.

Not intentionally, no. I do not consider PGI to be malicous anymore.

You say that like it's a bad thing? What's wrong with grown men playing with dolls? We call them action figures/TT-Miniatures.

Also, I don't own those dolls. Google Image search is your friend.

I'm perfectly capable of thinking for myself and making up my own mind. I am also not too proud to ask for advice. Perhaps after you grow up you will understand the difference.

Any game will make decisions you don't like. ANY game.

The question is, is the reason you declared a "moratorium" a big enough deal (to you) to spite yourself? Or is your "stand" worth denying yourself something you want?

Only you can decide that.

Speaking for Me, if I am still willing to play the game, I figure I can't be THAT upset. Thus, if there is something I do want, I will not deny myself the best chance to get the best deal on it. Ain't no way I'd pass up the Archer, unless I literally decided to walk away from the game, for instance.

But that's me. To me, calling a moratorium, but sticking around, would feel like fence sitting. If I'm that annoyed, I'm gone, at least for the time being, or until what offends me is changed. But that is me.

Yeah, voting did it for me and all my MWO friends too. I may come back, I still have premium time I paid for to burn. But the days of giving PGI my money are gone. I figure the frustration Russ and Paul create with the never ending over buffing bait and switch, then nerf hammering after they get the money will keep me for buying this, or any other, sweet mech. Just think about that suckered feeling you get after the nerfing and it may help you wait for the free c-bill de-balled version. You know it's coming. Posted Image

So I love the Reseen. Love them. <3 the holy living **** out of them.

However I got frustrated with some PGI decisions and canceled my preorders and have with great struggling resisted the desire to re-buy them.

All depends how you feel about what pissed you off originally. If you don't care anymore and are happy to give PGI money then buy it. If not, wait for cbills.

The Mechs eventually become available for CBills. And I have 190 Mechs, 170 of which I rarely touch. So I think I will continue to hold out.

Pretty much this. I have so many mechs that I just don't enjoy playing (like the Summoner) or are so similar to mechs I already own (what does the Trebuchet really bring that Crabs/Enforcers/Hunchbacks/Centurions/or some 55 ton mech can't already do (or does it better))? Quite frankly, I am tired of studying hard points, quirks, and model sizes/shapes wondering if a mech will be any good.

Hmm as some one said own an atlas? No need to buy one is going to be very true. Actually so much so that I can wait for when it comes out for CBills and then if I like it then I will wait for the hero to go on MC sale some time during the line and get that then maybe. Otherwise PGI can't get any more of my money.
