The copyright issues are pretty much solved, there are already multiple previously "unseen" mechs in the game right now. The Phoenix Hawk is no longer legally barred from the game.
The only obstacle is PGI's whim on deciding what gundam packs to release. Given that the PHX is a medium mech, it probably won't get remotely as much attention as unseen heavies (Marry, Whammy, Rifle, Archy, etc.) or iconic assaults (e.g. Kodiak).

Still she is one of four mechs that will get me to toss more money on the fire....
Phoenix Hawk

Longbow
Crusader
Phoenix Hawk
Wasp with Stinger as a reinforcement.
Personally I think the longbow sucks but my wallet might come out of retirement for the other four

Town hall also mentioned we would be getting one last solo pack Classic as well before they went back to 4-packs, first of which would be Clan Omnis, while we still have a glut of heavies (Ostroc and Ostsol) that could be PH.

this only works if its an LAM. there are only so many times you can use the "forgiveness for anything" card

I think the "Phoenix Hawk card" will work for PGI quite nicely.
Agile 45-tonner - with higher engine cap than both Blackjack and Vindicator - with cool appearance. Perhaps with ECM (depending on the variant chosen). Shoulder-mounted energy hardpoint.
Especially good for people bored with four IS Heavies in a row and wishing to try a Medium 'Mech for a change.

PGI will probably move those Crusader's leg hardpoints to side torsos.

Now that I think about it, those will probably be a 4 pack: Stinger, Wasp, Valkyrie, Phoenix Hawk.

Where did you get the idea that all PH's where LAMs? The majority of its variants where regular mechs.

Early printings of Technical Readout 3025 I would guess.
The first published LAMs were the Stinger,Wasp and Phoenix Hawk.
But I think what they meant was a LAM would be super NEW! and a big shiny to divert attention away from some other issue.

The only way it would be useful in MWO is if it was scaled down to ridiculous levels. The Vindi already exists and it already cant compete with lighter or bigger mechs. Low slung arms FTL!

You'd be surprised how effective this was in the past. There were countless times in this games development history where there were glaring issues with the current patch and then... Blamo SALE on colours/mechs/mechbays/Event/Event/Event/FreeMC... The end result was : "wait what problem did we have with the game? Oooo shiny."

That would be entirely amusing considering the Dasher/Fire moth can't be implemented since its MASC would top 200 kmph. I'd like to see how a LAM would break the game.

Yes, there were LAMS named Stinger, Wasp, and Phoenix Hawk, but they were based off of and made to look like the original battlemechs which shared the name. So two different things.
If I remember correctly, there was a quad LAM too, but can't remember the name.
