Greetings Mechwarriors. With the recent announcement of the majestic Ghost Bear which will be available in May I ask all of you - what will your loadouts look like? Will you fill every energy hardpoint with flamers to make a Nova Bear? Perhaps quad AC/2 for suppression and fun? Or be one with the meta with 2 Gauss and 2-3 LPL and/or PPC?

Somebody should do something like 6 SPL + 5 MPL + 2 LPL and paint it bright pink.

Because you need all three types of laser beam colors to create a rainbow.

This seems to be a Build a Bear Workshop.

Darn it! I only came for the coffee.

My spirit bear will absolutely run an AS7 build with speed (xl400, 4srm6, uac20, 2erml)
KDK-SB: UAC20, 4xSRM6, 2xERML, XL400, MASC, 17DHS
KDK-3: UAC20, 2xUAC10, 4 ERML with an XL375, 17DHS
KDK-1: 8 ERSL, UAC20(4t), 2xLRM15(5t), XL375, 22DHS
KDK-4: 2xLPL, 2xUAC10(4t), 2xSRM6(1.5t), XL375, 20DHS (Sword and Board)

So is quad gauss not possible? Just gotta throw in a std engine right?

You can, but even with armor stripping both arms the most you can get is 9 tons of ammo (STD300, Endo, FF)...you run out of slots. And if you remove FF to get more slots, then you have to strip even more armor and from vital locations.

It's not like you can even fire more than 2 Goose at a time anyways...

My thoughts from another thead;

View PostLord0fHats, on 04 February 2016 - 01:27 PM, said:

It can mount firepower just shy of a Direwolf, while being much faster. This is like the Artic Cheetah when Wave III was announced; the Kodiak will be good. The hitboxes will largely determine how good it will be. So obviously I'm excited Posted Image

With an XL-400 (can fit 16 internal DHS), Endo Steel Frame, and armor rounded down to the nearest .5 ton, the Kodiak comes in at 57.5 tons. That leaves 42.5 tons (44.5 with Ferro) and 47 free slots at it's max engine size to play with which is a lot!

My thoughts (and feel free to check my math, cause I am bad at it);

KDK-1; XL400, ESF, UAC20/5.5 tons ammo (17.5 t), 8 ERML (8 t), 2 SRM6/2 tons ammo (5 t), 12 DHS. Very hot but a nice skirmisher. Everything I wanted the Executioner to be beforce it got saddled with 12 tons of locked equipment. Though it would be nice to have MASC on this one. You can swap the ERMLs for SPLs and become a brutal brawler with ludicrous sustained DPS.

KDK-2; XL400, ESF, Gauss Rifle/4.5 tons of ammo (16.5 t), 2 LPL (12), 4 ERML (4 t), 10 DHS (10 t). Basically a Gauss vomit Warhawk that lost 2 heat sinks and 3 KPH, gained an ERML and 100 tonner of armor. Take away an ERML and DHS and add a jump jet for mobility. Decent skirmisher assault.

KDK-3; XL400, ESF, FF, 4x UAC5/8.5 tons ammo (36.5 t), 4 ERML (4 t), 4 DHS (4 t). 100 tons of death by dakka running at 70 kph. The Dakka Wolf is obsolete. You can downgrade the engine to a 375 and make that a quad UAC10!

Bear Spirit; XL400, ESF, 4x SRM6/5.5 tons ammo (15.5 t), UAC20/5 tons ammo (17.5 t), 2 ERML (2 t), 8 DHS, MASC. It's an Atlas-S and it can burst to medium mech speeds over short distances! This mech is going to be so bad ***. The Atlas has always had great brawling power, it's main problem being so big and so slow. The Bear Spirit with it's very cool paint job and MASC, plus better missile ranges cause Clan, gets to go around that problem completely.

Don't care about the other 2. The 4 just looks bad and the 5 is meh to me. The Bear Spirit and the 3 excite me the most.

LRM Bear (clan premier LRM 'Mech - also useful for farming C-Bills):
  • 4x LRM20 for maximum lurmage!
  • 1x cGauss because itz awesome!
  • 1x TAG (to get your own locks they say - not sure how)
  • 1x cERML just because
  • XL300, MASC, throw in a couple of DHS and fill the remaining space with ammo
When the match starts, remind everyone to press R! Use MASC to escape when those pesky Lights are trying to chew you butt.

EDIT: where's my coffee?

NOPE

Best you can do is LRM70 (20+20+15+15). Crit slots prevent anything greater.

4+4+2=10, unless you want to go STD, and CT is obvious.

Guess I should update that chart to be relevant for the Hero and hardpoint inflation.

That's it. You get beat to death with a salmon. For reals.

The shame. (I get that it's a joke, but you still get beat to death with a salmon on principle.)

Yeah; get to work, McGral!

The 4 isn't bad, though - it's better than the 2. The dual ballistic slots allow 2xUAC10, which is a very potent weapon setup on it's own. Pretty close to the cockpit, high on the torso as well.

Not ALL THE DAKKA like the 3; but not bad either.

KDK3 will just be a superior gauss-dire, 2x gauss, 2xLPL, 2xERML
KDK-SB possibly UAC20, 2xLPL, bunch of SRM6s
KDK1 will be gauss, 2xLPL, 5xERML
KDK2 will be gauss, 2xLPL, 4xMPL

So basically, the same gauss vom builds are the most effective

You can put the MASC anywhere (though space will be premium on the Spirit Bear). I doubt there will be room for Artemis, otherwise you're putting ammo in your shield arms.

I didnt' really have space issues. MegaMekLab works really well for doing this, though it's capped at TT engines (so, 300XL, 400XL, so you need to do the conversion math yourself to work out say 375XL engines.

The Spirit Bear, though, I'd keep at 400XL to really work the MASC as much as possible.

No LPL's, just go all out on the AS7-S style build:
