i loved piloting this mech in MW4: mercs and think it would be an awesome addition to MWO.
.....yes... i know its out of timeline.. ( but that's been adressed before by others)...
and... yes, i know it has a few weapons not currently present in game ( hint hint PGI.. new weapons please..)
But i think its time to get some new toys ( like heavy gauss, IS ER lasers ) since the clan war has been going for more than a year now in MWO.
and i know id pay for a collectors package/hero add on....
.....and...........
discuss.

I'm pretty sure the Fafnir is a Steiner mech. It was designed by Defiance industries after all.

Fafnirs are indeed a Steiner (TM Nothing Finer, Defiance Industries) production.
The big problem is that the Heavy Gauss rifle requires being able to mount a gun that takes up critical spaces in two different locations- part of the construction rules that PGI has failed at up to now (the same rule applies to AC-UAC-LB/20's and a few other very large weapons like Arrow IVs).
The fix to the construction system that'd allow it to exist would also make the number of potenial AC/20 users that much greater, though it'd also mean some interesting graphics work as well.

According to Sarna, the Heavy Gauss needs 11 crits. Even if it normally needs crit-splitting, I don't see why PGI couldn't make it work.
That said, I'd love to see Fafnir!

Ehhhhhh, I don't know. I really don't think IS needs any more mechs, least of all more super Dakka boats.

Fafnir production date - 3063. So NO, please NO!
Heavy gauss - same. Just NO. Devs cant balance existing weapons so they should not add more of them.
