Not the glorious Kit Fox Alt. Config A (the original Gauss Light) but I'm looking for a 35 tons Clan BattleMech with a ballistic hardpoint on the Arms or STs.

This Mech will be able to mount a single cGauss with 3 tons of ammo while also moving at 124.4 kph with an XL250 (after aggressively shaving armor!). Of course it being a BattleMech, you can change the engine. Bonus point if it has ECM and/or Jump Jets!

Unfortunately this Mech is Clan so it would not get meaningful quirks.

Such a gundam does not exist, as far as I'm aware.

Sarna MAY have such a mech but you'd have to look a bit.

If we can get a Gauss only Clan mech, I'd rather have the Glass Spider.

The closest thing to this that I can think of is the Pack Hunter. It uses an ER PPC instead of a Gauss rifle, but on table top, the Clan ER PPC is just as lethal as a Gauss rifle (in MWO, they still both do 15 points of damage, it's just that the Clan ER PPC spreads 5 of those points).

Yeah, though ERPPC is far less special compared to Gauss because anything can mount it with such low weight.

Ultimately, after looking at Sarna's page for 35-ton battlemechs, I couldn't find any Clan 35-tonners that had any ballistic hardpoints.

There are some Omnimechs like the Adder (which is too slow for your specs) but no Battlemechs.

Yeah, I guess the Adder will still be the only viable Gauss Light for a loooong time. Unfortunately it's a bit big with that hood.

used to run an adder with a ppc and a gauss rifle. the catch was i only had 15 rounds gauss ammo. swap ppc for an erll or better yet 4 erml or 4 spl for more ammo.

I'm also assuming not much armor...

The answer is the Peregrine 3 from 3061.
  • Clan 35-tonner.
  • Ballistic hardpoints in both arms.
  • Could be armed with Gauss Rifle and 3 tons of ammo.
  • Could use 245XL engine with one external DHS for 11+1 tons instead of 250XL with 10 DHS for 12.5 tons. The loss of speed would be 2-3 km/h only, while gaining 1/2 ton of armor.
  • The total amount of armor would be 230 points approximately.
  • Could be equipped with optional Jump Jets.

Wow, we got it... and it's timeline appropriate to boot!

Not the ideal shape but it ticks all of the boxes!

Man, that thing is ugly. It looks like the USS Enterprise had an unholy union with a Jagermech that resulted in an abominable love child.

There's always the Incubus. It even has 3 variants that are timeline appropriate.

Boy, you really had to Dig for that mech. I don't think we will have it untill Everything Else Is Gone.
