Ok, its widely considered the "Iconic" mech, (at least by dint of exposure), right? Notice how many artistic interpretations of the thing there are? Some of which tread into "Downright terrible" territory?

For me, the "true" Mad Cat mental image is the Horizon vinyl model kit, with a nose profile (Center torso? Not really, Head? Nope... nose) rather reminiscent of perhaps a B-25? (Not recalling my WWII era bombers very well).

What is everyone's opinions on how this thing is supposed to look?

I think you were looking for the B29

It should look the same as it has since as far back as I can remember.

The problem here is that any and all Timber Wolves basically would NOT match the style that FD has put onto the chassis. FD has created a unique style that, IMO, should be adhered to when he inevitably applies it to the Wolf. Of all the Wolves shown so far, the MW4 variant is closest to the style (but still falls short) A more rugged and geometric version with stature and weight in its stance.

With what he did to the Catapault (especially loving that clipped nose), I think the Wolf is going to look nimble and menacing all at the same time. Simply can't wait to see it.

ok i'm going to probably get pummeled.. but just looking at the missle racks... anyone notice in the designs there's no freaking space for actual ammo reloads? and there's also no mechinism to bring said reloads from any kind of non existant storage area up into the actual launchers?? maybe i'm missing it but i don't see it

*brings forth a blunt object*
See the "Missile autoload drive mechanism" on the top left missile pod? (or right while looking at it from the front. It leads around each of the missile tubes and then goes into the side torso, where the ammunition is stored.

I think it should look like it does in MW4!!!! It just looks a LOT better!! It would seem like the design with the longer arms, would be very hard to torso turn because the weapons will hit the legs while walking. The MW4 design much more feisible with the torso movement.

Yes, many older designs have had to be updated over the years, such as how MWLL updated the Summoner, because of clipping issues. Many of the tube arm mechs like the Timber Wolf would have clipping issues if you did torso twist.

Oh dear goodness. I believe I remember seeing this going up on one of the forums many a moons ago! What a wonderful bit of work!

The builder was (might still be) a member of Comstar Guard (notice the comstar logo nose art), he was an Engineer IIRC, there was a big story on that tree house when he built it with lots of pictures but its long since lost I think.

You guys are assuming that there's even going to be a MadCat, or Clans for that matter.

Want proof that we may never see the Clans? The Clans first showed up on The Rock in August of 3049 and defeated 3rd Battalion of the Kell Hounds. Anyone want to show me where The Rock is on the Inner Sphere map that the devs have been using and showing us? Show me the Outworlds Alliance, Taurian Concordat, Magistry of Canopus or St. Ives while you're at it.

They're not there are they? What makes you think that the Clans are there when these major Periphery States aren't? Ever wonder why the devs aren't worried about the Clans being OP when they show up? Think about it...

Nice to see someone else who can read maps and canon at the same time *thumbs up*

My dream Timber Wolf would be something like a cross between a Marauder and a Catapult. . oh wait. . MA rau D er- CAT apult . . I think that may have been done already . . .
