in 3049 in game history the clans are assaulting the periphery and will make first strikes against the DC in a matter of months. Clan design should already be in progress even though the 3050 manual only has 12 mechs.

In other words, like a Madcat.
LOL!
So true! It does indeed look the lovechild of a Marauder and a Catapult. I saw a similar non-Mech example once... it's in a mod called Rise Of The Reds, for an old CNC game. Called the Tremor AGAS (I swear it's short for "Tremor Anti-Ground Artillery System"), but the damned thing is the lovechild of a minigun and an artillery battery. That, and any aircraft caught between massive 400mm shell and target gets' pwn'd... hard... with a multi-ton ban hammer.
Ok, now that the mini-rant is over with... Insofar as the Mad Cat (or Timberwolf, for you Clanners) is concerned, if it fails to look the part, and act the part, I shall be most... irate. Irate enough to begin massive LRM-20 and Thunderbolt bombardments against any GMs I should spot in-game with a Catapult... or a Vulture, or a Mad Cat MK2, I've yet to decide. All three have acceptably massive Missile Bays. And they'd be Clan variant LRM-20s... maybe Clan Streak MRM-40s... more missiles. Lots of missiles... perhaps acquiring assistance from other equally-irate players...
Any rate, it would be an absolute sh*t-tonne of assorted warheads bearing down on my target(s). I've always liked exactly 5 Battlemechs... they are... Strider (good Medium 'Mech, great for recon), Catapult, Mad Cat (Timberwolf, whichever), Mad Cat Mk2, and Supernova (always liked a good ER-PPC salvo)... I've never really liked any of the Light 'Mechs... always seem too small to me.

To me it has everything in spite of "sucking-straw" arms or "greenhouse" cockpit. In spite of what self proclaimed "experts" think operational logic means.
Yes... THIS is the true framework for a Mad Cat... and honestly, I've always wanted to start MW4:Mercs with one of these. Even if it were the only one I got. Out of every frigging 'Mech out there, THIS is where it's at!
75-tons, a fine balance of Ballistics, missiles and energy weapons... it's a bit like a well-made .50-cal gatling cannon... elegance, lethality... true artistic slaughter at it's absolute finest.
I love this 'mech... So much adaptability, so many differing payloads... you can do alot with 75 tons... in fact, the only way I've EVER seen this frame improved, was with the Mad Cat Mk2... another 20 tons to play with, more room, more armor, more speed... believe it or not.

This picture is pretty much the best for the Timber Wolf (Prime). Most other interpretations have LRM15s in the shoulders. They're LRM20s. This picture gets that right. The one thing that bugs me a little is there appear to be 3 M.Guns, 2 in the CT, 1 in the RT. This is inaccurate. The MPLas in the LT is right, but only one M.Gun should be in the CT.
Because that's NOT a Timberwolf Prime. It's a Timberwolf F.

I'd also like to see a midsection that looks like it was designed to pivot as it wals. I look at the boxart of Mechwarrior 3 and can't help but wonder how the base the legs connect to is supposed to shift like that...

I'm pretty sure most users will appreciate the re-boot but at the same time I'll wager there will be a small, albeit highly vocal

For me, the "true" Mad Cat mental image is the Horizon vinyl model kit, with a nose profile (Center torso? Not really, Head? Nope... nose) rather reminiscent of perhaps a B-25? (Not recalling my WWII era bombers very well).
What is everyone's opinions on how this thing is supposed to look?
It should look the same as it has since as far back as I can remember.
