So you guys are leaning more towards the arcade environment, and not sim for this game?

Not sure how this makes sense. Bullets don't discriminate between friendlies and enemies...why would a physics based collision discriminate?

May as well have reflective friendly fire if this is the path we're going down...

dunno if you rconaised it lately, but the damage from friendly fire is way beyong that you recieve from enemy fire.
So it coud be possible to do this for ramming damage also.

"The scratching metal sound we have allready when mechs collide"

Why Mechs can’t be made out of a hybrid carbon fiber

I get collision damage all the time since they drop us off so close together and my legs come out of the drop area yellow

Also people are always pushing me from the back

Lastly I saw a YouTube video of a stripped stalker that was repeatedly being knocked down by the other team
They were laughing it up but it was a pretty pitiful display

I am sure knock downs ended soon after that

thats why i statet knock downs dont be important for proper collision.
If there is anything i DONT want, then it is stupid knockdowns that remove control out of your hands.
It woud be just annoying, however they handled the mechanic.

Except they're not going to learn.

Every time people say "Let's add Feature X because it will make players change their behavior" the behavior never actually changes.

A case study of this is friendly fire. People say "It makes you have to be careful with your shots and positioning and stuffs." But does it really? Because I still get hit at least a little bit by my teammates all the time and I see plenty of people trying to huddle around one corner to shoot at one target like an angry mob.

It does however make me laugh at the fools huddling together tripping over one another and therefor it should be done, yesterday.

There is a visual damage glow effect and damage texture afterwards. I don't think awareness is a problem. If there was no friendly fire awareness, people would try to hide behind teammates and shoot through their silhouette gaps all the time, which clearly doesn't happen.

I do hide behind my teammates all the time, I don't block their lanes of fire, and when I know my weapons have cleared them I also fire at the target they are firing at. It's surprisingly effective. It is in fact how you carry in a NOVA.
