That is actually really the opposite of my experience.

Assault and Conquest have fixed points that define a direction of things, and group movements.

Meanwhile, skirmish allows you the freedom to move as you wish, and has no constraints. It literally requires you to think about a way to out maneuver and counter your enemy.

the vote system is broken and a joke.
you could have 100 votes saved up but as long as there are many more players with that many saved up or heck more players with less votes(quantity over quality) it wouldn't matter you would still lose.

its the same with maps...

Please bring back Skirmish only. Its a waste of time to play a baserush game mode.

Conquest would be my favourite mode if.... people were inherently better at team work. But PUG LYFE we suck at coordinating and conquest often results in a disorganized salty mess. Hurr we gotta cap or we'll lose! But if we split mechs up we'll lose fights and lose anyway! It turns into such a crapshoot that I always vote against Conquest.

Conquest would work better if it took longer and if there was respawning/drop decks or something. It's just kind of fiddly and frustrating at the moment.

That said I would totally love an option to omit certain maps from my matchmaking. I can wait longer, I don't mind. Just stop dumping me into Arctic Peaks multiple times in a row. Or Polar Highlands. I know people love cold maps, I like running cooler and I do like Frozen City, but what in the bloody hell do people even like about Arctic or Polar? Is mountain climbing and trench hiding that fun?

I don't mind Assault though. Any competent team won't fall to some baserush, it's not hard to ask a light or two on the team to peel away and chase off a base rusher and it shouldn't make a huge enough difference as to lose the team fight. I always yell, either through my keyboard or VOIP to get people to stay and keep fighting, cause it's pretty dumb seeing an Atlas try to peel away to defend the base. I prefer Assault over Skirmish because we can fall back on the base capture if the alternative to winning is chasing the last light around the map with a bunch of heavies. Or trying to dig out some powered down douchebag. Every so often both teams do mechball and somehow fail to encounter each other resulting in an anticlimactic cap, but those are rare enough that I don't mind so much.

And it's always fun to send one of our lights to split up the enemy team with a baserush.

not sure about you but your original post looks like you are complaining that on Conquest and Assault people actually do the objective and you don't and just want to go into a mindless skirmish...

Sure, Skirmish allows freedom... but people do the same 1 thing on every map on skirmish. Rather it be go to the centre of terra therma or nascar around caustic valley, same thing over and over. Or on some maps there is 2 things you can do...

Meanwhile conquest on most maps at the least does 3 stuff and attack strategies and at most around 15 (such as splitting up on a regular basis or kill first cap later or cap first kill defending). annd assault at least encourages 2 ways to the place as going 1 way is predictable...

Love the minigame and getting all sorts of modes and maps ... keep you on your toes.

All of my matches last night were connected within 20 seconds of hitting Quick Play.

I like the voting system. Wait times kill the mood for me; dropping in matches uplifts my mood.

I cant agree more Torquemada or just a random system.

But im so bored to death with the 3 game modes for 3 years it might not help those that just uninstall.

I feel the same when it comes to everything feeling like skirmish, but I also would like to see assault actually pay out for capping. Or dear I say a real assault game type with 2 rounds for attack and defense and some version of a timer/scoreboard for the most effective teams victory.

Its why I hardly play anymore, if i want to play conquest in a light I should damn well be able to do that, and I sure as hell don't want to play conquest in a DW.
