Does Anyone Else Miss Being Able To Select Only 1 Game Mode To Play?

Then, you get assault, and FINALLY, a change of pace...right??
WRONG!
Then some jackwagons decide to cap rush because "we hate this map", or, "we wanted a different mode".
I miss the days of just running skirmish. I play this game to shoot stompy robots...not to get base rushed or play conquest. Surely the population is big enough now we can bring it back without issue....right?

By and large I play basically what I want each time. Rarely do I get a map/mode combo I dislike (Terra Therma skirmish, I'm looking at you).

TT conquest I hate...or...polar conquest...or...
Conquest at all to be honest.
I do not play to stand in a cap.
Then, when playing assault, cap warriors tell you to go play skirmish...except you cannot force skirmish.

I think cos you can see the votes and with this minigame everyone's trying to get their multiplier up. I watch the timer and then notice with 2 secs to go there's a huge swing to the least favourite map and game mode.

It just pissed me off when they removed it.

Since you 'know' they are all going for the base.....just wait for them there and melt them. Problem solved.

but now that everyone has to play every mode, those derp players are well in tier5 instead of populating their own tier list of derp capzors

Nope. I am quite enjoying my variety of game modes and shorter queue times.

Only difference is some modes dictate where you first move to (conquest), or keep an eye on a progress bar during the match (assault).
My only request is we get more game modes that actually require a different strategy than "group up and meet the enemy at center map" or "cap the nearest point then group up and meet the enemy at center cap point".

Unfortunately no matter the game mode, it could be escort, protect VIP, serving ice cream, it'll deteriorate to pure DM.
That's pretty much shown in every other online game since Doom. Until they make the rewards for actually completing a mission objective vastly superior than just pure kills or victory by killing the other team, it's always gonna end up as blowing up the other team.
