Although the Command Console maybe still asks too much (3 tons) for what it can give (better magnification and time to paperdoll), sometimes you can cram it because there's still left over space or the build makes sense with the console on. Post here if you have such builds!

Currently I use this: GHR-5P

The small lasers are there so the ERLLs can take the high(er) mounts. After putting everything necessary in place, I can have 3 tons to play with so I put the CC. It allows you (me) to not bring the Adv. Zoom module (this mech have >800m optimal range) for non CW drops because of the enhanced magnification. The faster time to paperdoll is a welcomed bonus!

PS: I'm aware of the "meta" build for this variant.

I went for something a little more unorthodox:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...26faa7998c53895

The idea is to run backwards towards the enemy, then when they're all confused, unleash the paperdoll and look at that sustained dps! They won't know what hit them, guaranteed. 100% P2W, GG.

Command Console: Official 3 ton head non-cockpit item for the IS.

Thanks Paul.

I remember having it on my Wubshee, since it had so much spare tonnage left after cramming in DHS. The faster paper doll reading does come in handy in duels.

Command Wubshee.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the command console changes will be later this year.

I'd like it to be so that:
  • the Mech equipping it can share targeting data of the locked/targeted enemy with friendlies, i.e. you can see the enemy Mech's loadout targeted by the CC equipped friendly Mech without having visual of the enemy.
  • red doritos seen (without lock on) by the CC equipped friendly Mech automatically appears for all of his/her teammates.
I think this will make CC pretty useful and could live up to its name. Or would it be too OP?

Maybe make it so that Command Console can show all enemies' HP % at once, as long as they are within field of view and are target-able (not under ECM). That way the pilot who has command console can call targets much easier, making it a true "command" equipment.

Battlemaster-3M - Wubs

Similar to the Wubshee, but purely MPLs + f' the ghost heat.

Instant paperdoll + power pulses = a ton of destroyed mechs and components.

Sorry, I thought that was a Battlemaster >.<

My Battlemasters would like that. As is, I call them face-tankers. :P

It's a useless piece of ****. Think what the 3 ton Targeting Computer Mark III does and then compare. Wow. And TCs are getting buffed!

I run one in my ZEU-9S. It's another case where I had a few tons but only one slot to play with, without removing Endo, so I effectively got it for less tonnage. Preference would've been a few more DHS, but that would've required removing Endo, so in went the CC.

It's technically useful on an extreme long-range build like this, although not worth the tonnage of course. I'm interested to see what they come up with for the CC for next month's patch.

PGI's already on record on the CC getting buffed in the next patch.

They gave it functionality when Clan targeting computers were introduced. Not enough functionality to justify 3 tons though.

They are living in fantasy land Russ had said during the town hall they wanted to make

The Clan TC and the IS CC better and worth taking into the battlefield

But it would be almost impossible to make this junk worthwhile due to ghost heat
Everything revolves around heat it’s one of the most important factors in the game
You need all the tonnage you can get so you can pack more heat sinks

I wish the changes to the targeting computers were similar. 7 tons and 7 slots still 10 points like the 1 ton and 1 slot "computer"?

My command console build is for the Highlander 732B to be used in CW on Boreal Vault.

HGN-732B

Max engine, full armor, command console, beagle active probe, 3 ER LL, Gauss + 5 tons of ammo, 1 jump jet.
Due to the structure quirks you can use the left side as shield while you zoom in on the enemy, charge your Gauss while you shoot the 3 ER LL into one hit zone.
