Nobody gets 12 kills in a normal PUG game, especially nobody with spelling and grammer like that guy.
And the constant insulting and f-words... sounds more like a kid to me.

why can not i do this i can with one other friend but as soon as i get 3 in the tonnage jumps to 80 FROM 40!!!! make it 60 you {Richard Cameron}

so much for my fun idea now i have to get one to go hevy to make ends meet fix this **** im not ******* happy abut this it was hard enough to get my friends to play now i got this **** to deal with

PS.can i make a team of all the same mech and it let us drop??

from: pissed off gamer D:<

You know why this is so? Because people just like you came to these very forums (and more likely, twitter) and complained, just like you, to nerf teamwork and punish big units and big groups and any set of people that happen to be on the same teamspeak. Players, just like you, were tired of having to put an ounce of effort into getting organized into a 4-man or more and getting stomped by 12 man Firestarter teams, or a micro-unit of heavies or a few friends all running dual gauss direwolves.

So PGI presented unto you and all people like you, split queues and tonnage restrictions for groups larger than 2, in an effort to do what players could take no effort to do, and balance teamwork, in fact actually trying to nerf teamwork itself! Well it almost worked, because PGI has no control over the human desire to win and well, the people that don't work at winning, still don't, and the ones that do, still do. This just makes it more challenging for those that like winning to do so.

TL;DR: in this case don't hate the developers, hate the complaining players.

Babycakes,

I'd like to help here in re the hubbub over your displayed title. TLDR: get that title off of your display.

The thing is most many experienced players consider the "death star" achievement to be nothing more than an indicator that the person showing such a title is either a cheater, an exploiter, a dbag or al of the above. The title is NOT indicative of skill, since most consider the circumstances needed to achieve it as being frankly impossible. Some have even posited that the achievement itself was put forth by PGI as a way to catch less intelligent cheaters.

You protestations that the match was legit, despite the evidence provided by your screen shot, lends credence to the view that at the very least your "achievement" was based on a mass disconnect event which you simply took advantage of.

So again TLDR I suggest you drop that title and never mention it again. Just a suggestion.

Just drop in Community Warfare.

You guys can take plenty of Locusts there. The Group Queue is for training or for when you don't have time for a CW drop, as far as I am concerned.

couple of months ago me and a few others did some private matches with nothing but locusts..

was incredibly fun

Because the scoreboard doesn't lie.

You lack evidence, and the grand majority of Death Star holders are illegitimate.

Because you didn't earn it in a proper fight.

Death Star is impossible to achieve in a match that isn't fundamentally broken. The "Server Meltdown" bug many players have referenced is a period of time where players would find themselves disconnected from their games, leaving their 'Mechs as empty, free-kill shells - this event is responsible for most of the Death Star titles currently 'earned' by the community. The rest of the Death Star titles around are generally considered to be held by cheaters - whether actual cheat-program cheaters, or simply boosters who manipulated a match to allow for one player to kill twelve unresisting enemies.

In order for a Death Star to occur 'naturally', the enemy team must be made up of squid instead of human players, and everyone on your team except you must also be a squid. Elsewise, someone other than you is going to get a kill. if the match is remotely fair (i.e. matched with players of anything close to resembling equal skill), then the odds of one, singular player being the guy who gets the last shot on every single enemy - without any sort of cheating, gaming-of-the-system, or other shady shenanigans - are so astronomically high as to effectively be discarded as statistical noise.

Or, TL;DR - there's no such thing as a "legit" Death Star. Your screenshot is mostly just proof that, knowingly or not, you abused a glitch in the game code to earn a title you shouldn't have had. Now, I'm willing to accept that you probably didn't know what was going on, but yes - you'll do better in the forums if you take down the Death Star title. Nobody respects it. All it does is get you grief.

On the subject of "Y U NO LOCUST TEAMS, PGI?!"

This is because Locusts are bad. They are categorically Not Good 'Mechs, and concentrating several of them on one team is objectively bad for that team's chances of victory. These controls are in place to ensure that a bunch of drunk guys trying to make a lulsy YouTube video or some such - i.e. you and crew - do not ruin the games of the other eight or nine players in your match by sabotaging their team with a drastically underweight element. As has been stated before, sharp tonnage disparities are a strong correlation to lopsided games, and frankly there are not anywhere remotely enough 'good' Locust pilots to make up for that disparity.

Your answer is to invite someone in a Whale to soak up your extra tonnage. Then you and your bros can waste time and die in your Locusts guilt-free while the Whale guy tries to carry you all

Because:

A.) My screen shot shows that every player in the match was active (no zero ping players).

B.) Death Star is well-known to have been achieved by a lot of players during a server glitch that disconnected almost every player in a match.

C.) The battle time was twenty seconds shy of eight minutes. I am a higher rank than you playing against similarly higher-ranked players, and it took me that long to earn those kills. Only six were most-damage-dealt, and only five were solo. I had 13 enemy components destroyed for 8 'Mechs to your one-per-mech.

D.) I have multiple screen-shots showing I have repeated the Ace of Spades (8 kills) achievement in the Locust several times, and not even with the same variant. You can find some of them here.

TL;DR: No team is so derpy that a Shadow Cat is going to perfectly 12-count in 4.5 minutes. I also play Shadow Cats.

I do really well in my Locust personally. But I wouldn't want to drop into a match and find that all three of my team's light mechs are locusts because frankly, very few people can play a locust effectively. It's a talent that not a whole lot of people have.
