>random buffs to an already top tier light
>Oxide objectively better than all jenners
>announced together with MC deals which comes with jenner pack (coincidence?)
>MC only

Are PGI using buffs and nerfs used to balance the game or to stimulate economy for profits? You decide.

As long as theres a better light that can be purchased with cbils its not really pay2win.

A more accurate statement is Paul doesn't know how to balance the game.

Full stop.

Well...it's still a Light mech.

Hard to be P2W with those (Cheetah was the better contended, when it had the trash-tier quirks on a god tier robot)

I'm not planning on getting one, not even on a 50% off sale.

No, they don't know how to.

It's been proven time and time again.

Pay to win doesnt mean you have to be in the biggest mech available. You could only get the best lights in the game with money that would be pay to win even though meds can do more damage. If its the best mech in teh class it's pay to win.

Not new territory.

VTR DS was also best mech in the game for a good while. No one seemed to care it was p2w then.

TBRs DWF were cash only for a long time. No one cared then either.

I'd prefer a JR7-IIC over an Oxide anyday, if you're going for SRM Splat. But if you want a Power Gamer Mech for the IS, as far as I'm aware the Firestarters are still the ones to go for (though personally, I prefer the Wolfhound for it's indestructibility.... I mean, durability).

Well, the Oxide intially had 6 missile hardpoints that were reduced to 4, 300 engine size capacity, die when the now easy to hit ST get destroyed and has no jump jets.

The IIC Jenner has 6 missile hard points, bigger engine size potential, 2 ST kill requirement as well as Jump Jets.

Yep - the Oxide is pay to win...

Oxide was actually pretty terrible before the last round of buffs. SRMs were bad at the time, the Jenner had awful hitboxes (they're bad now too, just for the exact opposite reason), and the Huginn had quirks that were so much better it wasn't even funny. The thing is enjoying a resurgence at the moment, but how long it lasts is anybody's guess... and laservomit, available to umpteen lights available for cbills, is still much stronger.

So... not seeing much water being held by this particular complaint. Looks more like a case of "PGI made a sad 'Mech viable." I still only see maybe one or two a day amidst the ever-present horde of Wubstarters and Cheetos.

The oxide is only good in the hands of a good pilot -- or a lucky pilot. You do not balance mechs on pilot skill or luck.

If the Arctic Cheddar was for MC only this topic wouldn't be a complete farce.

There kind of isn't...

It's better than the JR7-IIC, it's more brutal than the FS9-A, ... it's the best striker light in the game right now, bar none.

Except it's not the best mech in class either.

It's only p2w if this game is reduced to jenner on jenner jenocide.

Do you balance them on having as much firepower as a heavy while still going as fast as a light?
