Just got into this game the past day or so and I love it, but the bobbing and shaking of the cockpit is really bothering my eyes and making me feel a bit sick. Surprising, since I typically don't have this issue in other games.

I heard this is specifically omitted for some design decision, but I doubt I'm the only one that can't play for more than 30 minutes at a time. I'm sure this wouldn't be an issue if I were piloting an actual mech ;) Just like driving a car, once you're in control the movement is not something people have to manage. It's just when watching it on a screen I guess.

Just a thought, since you probably have some other people like me that want to get into the game but are kind of driven away by this feature.

Uhm no. This is an actual game mechanic and it's there to stay. Impulse * Damage = Camera shake.

Yea, sorry to read this OP, but it's actually part of the challenge of piloting the mech under fire.

Hi Cleansweep,

Welcome! Always good to have new players.

What Ethak is pointing to is that the screen shake is part of the tactical game. (Both in the movement of the mech and when you receive damage. )

Some weapons create screen shake when you are hit by them. This makes it hard to shoot back in return. Its part of the Pros and Cons of different weapon systems. lasers cause no screen shake, where as ballistics and missile weapons can cause quite a lot.

You will get used to it.

Games worth sticking at. It always offers a challenge, its not as easy to master as other games,, but when you have a good match or a heroic moment,, you buzz about it for days.

You'll find the Improved Gyro's module helps a lot.

Possibly what is bothering you is the sight of the rest of the cockpit and frame moving / bobbing.

Try increasing PoV in settings to above the default 75/80 to see less of the cockpit. The downside of this is a more restricted field of vision which means that you will need to learn to swivel the torso more or read the minimap quickly.

Yeah, the bobbing is definitely a part of it so would be great to have an option just turn it off altogether. I've tried adjusting to a narrower FOV already but didn't notice too much of a diff at the time.

I recall the trial Arctic Cheetah cockpit had a bit more viewing area than my current AC, so I think I can switch out the head? I'll play with it to see if I can get an even clearer cockpit view.

Will also look into the improved gyros!

Try piloting heavier mechs as well. The motion is slower so you may cope better.

Horth. You are correct. I have this problem in game for some reason. I posted on it a while back and have tried a few times to come back. But it just does gives me a headache and dizzziness. Getting old now so probably just me. But no other games do this to me.

Google just popped this topic up as I considered giving it yet another go.

Maybe it's the flashing more than anything for me. Which in the lore is compensated for by the pilot suite he\she wears. Hopefully mw5 will be better.
