Since the theme laid down by the Kodiak appears to be totem mechs as the next wave, I'm putting money on the Turkina, being Clan Jade Falcon's totem mech by name and design, arriving next.

What do you guys think will be Clan Smoke Jaguar and Clan Wolf's totem mechs?

It isn't actually a Totem mech. It is just a primarily Jade Falcon used omnimech with a Jade Falcon name. For that matter, neither is the Night Gyr. Hell, the Shadow Cat is not a Nova Cat totem mech, either. Nor the Timber Wolf for the Wolves. The Orion IIC is a closer to totem status mech to the Wolves than the TBR and even that is not a Totem Mech.

But I would not say no to more mechs, as long as whoever is responsible for actual content begins continues to produce some.

Wow

After seeing and knowing so many Mechs, I'm amazed there always is another Mech that is uglier than any other before.

Turkina qualifies straight up for JF.

Nova Cat qualifies within our tech level but isn't a totem for our 4 main clans.

The Ebon Jag is already in the game for the SJ.

Arctic Wolf is tech compatible for the Wolves but only has 3 variants.

Kodiak is already coming for GB.

I don't think the next Clan mechs will be totem mechs but I am hopeful for the Huntsman.

Sarna is like Wikipedia. It can be edited by the public. Unfortunately, when the "public" is small and fanatical, the public is often wrong about such things. "Totem" status is a quagmire of emotion fighting rules and logic. Nova Cat, a Clan Nova Cat mech, isn't technically a Totem mech even though it is, lore wise, designed to boost the moral of the Clan just as a totem mech would. Rule wise, however, it is not.

This is actually false, there have been many debates over this for years, and the official word from the CBT devs is that unless it is explicitly stated as such in the TRO write ups as a totem mech, it is not a totem. I don't really like that being the case, but that's the official stance.

I think the Black Lanner and Turkina are a given, despite the Black Lanner having all the problems of the Shadow Cat (and will suck), and the Turkina being little more than a 95 ton Dire Wolf that is just as slow and with fewer load out options (and will be largely pointless).

I highly suspect we'll be seeing the Fire Falcon and Night Gyr as the other two mechs. The Fire Falcon might be fun, if only because it'll be Mist Lynx sized without the problems of the Mist Lynx (presumably), and the Night Gyr will probably find a niche in the Clan heavy line up.

How did I miss this? Yes. I want the Huntsman so badly. PGI seems afraid of giving us Clans a medium mech that can bring some sort of competition to the Stormcrow as best in class. All I want are competitive options, and the Huntsman is exactly that; a competitive option to the Stormcrow. Less durable, slower, jump jet equipped, with half a ton more pod space.

That said, we still desperately need a 40 ton option. Viper (meh), Pouncer (why not?), or Coyotl (with invented A and B variants) would be fantastic.

I guess. I kind of considered other mechs as "totems" as well, not just those from that list.

Personally I'd like to see the Turkina, Nova Cat, Night Gyr and Black Lanner regardless of their totem status and who they're totems for.

Exactly, the Huntsman would be a great mach to add into MWO.

The Turkey is quite literally a Dire Whale with a bit less tonnage, critslots, and armor to play with, along with dramatically fewer hardpoints on many variants. Unless quirks are involved, there is nothing worthwhile that a Turkey can do that a Whale can't.

The only other Omni assault option at the moment (AFAIK) is the Kingfisher...It has issues of its own (e.g. STD engine hardwired) but at least it has some kind of "uniqueness" about it rather than being a full clone of some other mech.

I think I'll look through Sarna to see if there are any Clan assault Omnis that use current MWO tech but are not necessarily 3050 mechs, seeing how the 3068 Kodiak variants made it in...

I like the MadCat MKll but even I know it's not going to be in game any time soon and thus will not cry and complain about it or make it my life's goal to put it in game by going on a crusade like SOME people here...

Also it's fun watching Imperious getting trolled.

Okay, with the new policy of "We can add it as long as it uses current tech," this opens up the Tomahawk as an option...the problem is that it's also very similar to the Daishi just like the Turkey. The main difference is that it uses 12 hardwired DHS instead of 15, which gives it more tonnage to handle pure dakka builds like Gauss. Of course, heat-intensive builds need those DHS anyways...The Tom also lacks more than 2 ballistic hardpoints to boat Gauss anyways.

So it looks like Clan assault Omni options are kinda bland right now. :\

Okay I spoke too soon, it looks like the Deimos is an option now with 3 variants (Prime, A, B ).

However, this one is also similar to the Daishi, except even worse because it has Daishi agility with only 85 tons to spend on equipment and armor...

But hey, at least it has MASC...

Yeah, but it at least looks cooler, and as you mentioned, it has MASC.
