Would it be possible to make the "testing maps" AKA 1vs1, 2vs2 and so on avaible without premium time?
I mean PGI would most likely want some data on how people play the map and maybe some feedback too. So haveing a bigger group of people playing the maps should be in their intereste, shouldn't it be?
As for feedback. I had my last day premium time yesterday and played the 1v1 and 2v2 maps with a friend and we both liked it very much.
Its feelt good to have an alternative to the usual skirmish. We went in and used to test our skills and try out some strange mech configs without hindering a team, like you would in a normal game.
Also noticed that you have to play different in 1v1 game and thats good.
As for the two maps we played. I think they could use some water. Maybe a centrale lake with some cover around it (hill or building) so that one has the better cooling while the other has the cover.
Overall I hope this (mode) gets more attention from the devs and will become something everyone can enjoy.

their logic for requesting Premium Time are server costs. It costs PGI the same amount of $ to host a 12v12 (24 players) on a game as a 1v1 (2 players) per game.

By that logic the other matches should also be primetime only......

It's about efficiency. If running a server instance costs pretty much the same regardless of how many players are using it (which it does, apparently), then it's most efficient to put 24 players per instance and encourage the players to be in 24-player matches, rather than letting them hog up entire server instances two measly players at a time. That's why doing a full 12v12 in a private match doesn't actually cost premium time.
