That is easy to answer as many MWO players are single. They wear stained t-shirts, live in their mom's basement and have empty bottles of soda all over the place. Their most expensive possession is their computer and their second most expensive possession is the movie prop they have on the bookshelf beside them. They come in many shapes, however, from the morbidly obese to the stick-like paper-thin skin variety as well as a rainbow of colours. They all share the same facial tick when people say "LRM Atlas".

You forgot the Cheetos dust all over the place!

I think the caps lock is usually on because it is the push-to-talk default keybinding.

What anatomical parts are you referring to?

I suppose the caps lock could be an accident in the rants but I usually find they go hand-in-hand with one another, like chocolate and peanut butter.

As to the body part, I will leave that to the imagination as it will keep me from getting put on probation.

What a single player game should (but probably won't) be like:

You play a young mercenary forced to take over a small merc outfit because your commander was killed by pirates and you lead a campaign to take down the pirates. Next, the 4th Succession War breaks out and through a convoluted (contrived?) storyline your merc outfit ends up working for each of the Houses of the Inner Sphere one by one, gaining prestige, 'mechs and more mercs along the way. The game has a lot of strategic planning, resource management, political maneuvering, tactics, intrigue, deal-making and some role-playing with a few of the movers and shakers of the BT universe.

After the war you're invited to fight in the Solaris 7 tournaments where you make new allies and enemies. You eventually retire rich (and a little famous) but suddenly the Clan Invasion happens and you're back at war. During the campaign you discover a cache of Star League 'mechs and use them against the Clans, culminating in the Battle of Tukayyid where you use both Star League 'mechs and Clan Busters.

6 months after the game's release, the first expansion arrives featuring another decades-long campaign, only this time you play the Clans. All of this is just for Mechwarrior 5. Mechwarrior 6 takes you to the 3060s and beyond.

*Poof* Huh? Whazzat? ****, I must've been dreaming...

I would LOVE this and crave it like nuts! I miss the old days when I played MW3 and 4. I fond this MWO nothing like that we I had control over the Lance and Company units which in Co-Op is laughable as people want to do their own thing.
One thing I would improve is the Assault Mechs as they cannot defend themselves from Light or Medium Mechs. What Mech Pilot would want to drive a 100 ton Assault Mech that cannot defend itself against a light Mech shooting it's arse off going around in circles? It never was like that in MW3 and 4.

Ahh the good ol days!
Lets hope they do this as I would play more often.
All the best,

You would drive your mech at the AI over and again until you figured out its patterns and weaknesses. Then you'd beat it. Then you'd tell yourself you're really good at this, and no one would be around to laugh at you.

Been thinking more about this and I feel that there could be a Dynamic Campaign made where the ending would be determined on your course of the game. Perhaps some point in 1/4 in the game you're offered to become a Spy in the opposing enemy playing mechs on their side while gathering Intel for say, like 8 to 13 missions where the last spy mission your spying is discovered and your off to the extraction zone. Mission bonus would be getting not your intel, but an artifact that would be a game changer for the entire war or something like that.

Then you would proceed back into your unit where you work up nito the command structure and end up commanding your own Mech unit of 4 Lances. Final battle would be similar to Operation Overlord from MW3 or 4 where it appears to be your killed, but in truth not as it's a setup for the final missions.
The final missions you have a two lance unit of hand picked pilots of your choosing for some very special and highly dangerous missions. Your first goal is to find the planet where reports of a new Assult Mech (can we say Fafinr) being developed and is reportedly in advance testing phase. Find the location, plan an assault on the research facility an secure the three prototypes and wait for extraction. This can cover several missions wit you ending.
up with one of the prototypes. Another goal is some missions designed for Intel leading up to the final battles like MW3 and 4. Yes this is from the Clan point of view, but IS can also be added.

I think MW5 answers this question, but we are going to have to wait till it comes out with some form of beta.

Nice Necro, but who really cares

I used to play MW4 mercs with a playstation joypad. It was possible to hit the AI mechs outside of their engage range. Shot a lotta unguided LRMS..
