I'm playing around with this mech in SSW and so far I can say that it runs out of critslots real fast, almost as fast as the Warhawk. That's not usually a good sign...
I'd use Medium Pulses in the ST's to help eat weight faster than slots, but then they won't synchronize with the hardwired ERML very well.
Why the heck do Clan assault Omni options have to be so limited. :\
Because the correct way to use a Clan Assault Mech is to get a "pocket assault" Clan Heavy.
They can consider a mech chassis from the future yes they said as long as it follows the game. Also you need 4 total varriants 1 for pre order /MC usually.
I would say popularity wise people know about the Madcat MK.II more so then the Deimos. Not that the prior can't work but IF they choose a mech from a future it will most likely be the Madcat MK.II first for the assualt class for clans. Heavy in would put money on Nova cat cause it has good varriants and it's well known.
I'm sure I missed a few. Note this is based on production date at or before 3053 - as we are in 3053 now. TRO dates do not necessarily line up with them.
Off the top of my head I would say the Viper and Huntsman are the 2 I've seen mentioned the most. So either one of those I guess. But we don't have a 40ton clan mech yet so I'll say Viper.
The light, heavy, and assault are what I really want though. Medium isn't a big deal to me. Or you know what I might change from the Viper to the Coyotl since that is 40tons and, and is also the first true omnimech.

I think we should deny the MC MK. II for now just to troll a certain someone. Plus, the debate is about Omnimechs, while the MC Mk. II is a Battlemech.
The Nova Cat is viable but it's not an assault mech (which is what I'm trying to look for right now).

Unfortunately, because of the intentional game design decision of PGI to deny heat neutrality, Clan assaults, which often lean heavily on energy weapons, are going to be impacted. Take, for example, the Hellstar. It's supposed to be heat neutral, but that just is not gonna happen, and in MWO, even with 30 DHS, it would overheat stupidly fast even with a 2/2 firing pattern.
Ironically, the Bane might actually be worth it. Ballistics heavy, with the tonnage to use it.

Because they created the perfect assault early , well at least in TT, it is one of the best assaults (Whale).
The Blood Asp is really the only interesting Omni assault that's gets added for the Clans outside of jihad era design imo, and it relies on newer tech.

Those are both Battlemechs. :\
I'm looking for Omnimechs to complete the speculated/coveted next Clan Omni wave.

The Deimos I could see looking funky with 6UAC 2's it wouldn't be the cold 3 barrels per arm clean look and UAC2's looks like sticks it would look weird :/

Well I don't agree with the statement cause I really want it and so do many others besides imperious. You shouldn't tie trolling him with flat out dongblocking him and many others from our favorite mech. I regardless if you agree with him or not please don't go to such childish manors...it only hurts the game more. Vote to benefit the game not troll Imperious....consider such actions affect more than just him.
I would be very upset my self if we lost it due to community trolling just to spite Impy.

Agreed. Cutting off one's nose to spite one's face is never a good idea. Unless your nose happens to be made out of cancer. In which case, looking like Red Skull might not be the worst choice....
The MK II is wanted. By many. But when the time is right. I'll be very happy to see it in game, then.

You'd be surprised. I pooh pooh'd the IFR, but prior to the latest patch I started running it again. It really shines as a rapid response SRM platform. After this patch, it just got even better. Damned thing is a cockroach. Hard as hell to kill it, it armor rolls like a champ, and brings respectable firepower potential, all while moving stupidly fast for a 45 ton mech.
Meanwhile, Russ is still convinced that mobility is greater than or at least equal to firepower, and as a result the Shadow Cat gets no hardpoint inflation nor burn duration quirks. Yeah. Because he couldn't just look at the Spider vs other light mechs on the IS side to see just how wrong that idea is, and how poorly it worked out in the past.
All the mobility in the world means nothing if the mech hits like a wet noodle. Literally the only thing the SHC does better than the IFR is long ranged poke, and on the vast majority of the public queue maps that is of extremely limited utility. IFR is faster, even with the new MASC, is more responsive due to the bigger engine, has better hitboxes for armor spreading, and has a higher overall damage potential in regards to laser damage output. Toss on the structure quirks and, well... it's impressively under rated.
