No I think about the game and the community I help anyone on my team who asks and who will listen but I will always play my best because I respect my opponents to always give my best, now having siad that there are plenty of times I lay off using strikes and UAV's when it is obvious they are not need to win, but I still play my best because that's what my opponents deserve and should expect, I expect nothing less from them.

You are trying to apply your vision or Morality on a wide a diverse community, when all than needs to be said, is you should always bring your best and do your best, and if not you accept those consequences and not expect the community to conform to your view. CW would be more populated if it was a better game more period, it has nothing to do with big units good teams bad teams.

i am only applying something we should always do anyway: care about another.
its not just telling others to get better. thats nothing you can expect from anyone in a short time.
people arent just getting better in a week. or a month. its a procedure most of us have gone through years.
you never know how long your opponent actually plays.
that has nothing to do with how good/bad a game is and its not the games fault that he is new and knows next to nothing.
what you expect those new players to be is learning the game we play for so long in a few battles. i tell you, he wont play MWO that long if you always bring your best and totally stomp him away. you will not teach him anything if he doesnt have our mindset.

also i always said that CW is not at the state it could (look what i wrote about the non-fixed stuff on taiga and boreal)
or the latest sledgehammer-balance-patch. completely unnecessary to nerf IS and remove ALL the negative quirks on the clan mechs that STILL BEEN T1 even with them while it would been enough to just nerf the IS and go from there.
playing IS in CW now is just as horrible as 2 patches before and everyone knows it.

that still doesnt change the fact that we as community can do alot better to help and save CW with what is in our hands.
its the thing WE can change without PGI and it starts with everyone of us to play as good as we can but still dont demoralize the opponent.

Two things

1.) I agree with you that we as the community can and should help improve CW environment (If we want it to be more fun anyhow)

2.) "Demoralize" and things of that nature? That's a personal feeling. I'm not here to play a video game while worrying about harming the sensitivities of someone else simply because they lost a video game.

With that said, I'm nto one of these guys that jumps on chat and starts berating my team or opponent over a loss. That's called poor sportsmanship and I was raised differently. At the same time I was also raised to compete and the best level I can present to my opponents.

I've played hockey and football competitively all through my youth. I never once saw or heard anyone on the other team (or coaching staff for that matter) ever tell others on their team to "take it easy on me" so my feelings don't get hurt. If you're that sensitive that you "feel bad" or "rage quit" because you lost a video game badly, that's on you, not me, not PGI, not the game mode, not the other players, you as an individual.

"Being nice" isn't the same as coddling so the other team doesn't get their "feel goods" hurt.

MWO is a somewhat brutal game in that a lot of the victories are feast or famine. You have to play it with a thick skin. The losses can be really rough, but rather than get all emo and self-defeating, observe what is happening and make changes. Since the OP keeps saying we can make the change ourselves, then brilliant, these players can be the first to make changes themselves. I whole heartedly agree with that sentiment. So rather than ask ME to change, I expect them to make some changes themselves first. That's fair right?

What mechs are beating me? What tactics are beating me? What I am doing when I die? (Write it down, if the same stuff starts showing up on the list, then that is what I change). The list is usually, I'm off by myself alone, I'm in some goofey build to have fun at the wrong time, or maybe I just matched up against a better opponent that I need to work harder to beat. That is totally OK to. It has to be OK for me to face someone who I admit is better than me, learn from it, and work hard to improve myself.

Before asking other players to do stuff to make it easier for me, isn't it a bit insulting if I haven't done everything I can to improve myself first?

So i was in this counterattack just now, where a clan premade sniped omega from 1.5k meters, sniped one mech down and then did run away to hide in their spawnzone for the rest of the match.
The premade i was pugged with decided to not run into the meatgrinder and sit it out.
30 minutes of waiting for a match then 30 minutes shooting figures into the snow with lasers just to wait another 30 minutes for a new match.
Had this more often but never that annoying. Really, this gamemode has to go.

Judging by your previous performance with our "Light Carry Task Force", this was likely the appropriate strategy.

you play hockey and football in youth. nice for you.
was there any employee that had to look for a different Job when all the players left?
here where i live most people done that stuff during their free time for passion if it wasnt amateur league or higher.

sorry i just dont think that simple about it. we can make a game better or destroy it.
i rather be a bit more sensitive about what i do to something that can alot of people their jobs. if you feel like those guys dont deserve it then you can stop thinking of it. im not judging you in that case since everyone has a different opinion if PGI is doing a good or bad job.

about your second point: words can demoralize. but actions even more. i just had alot of fun games with my unit. we played versus pugs all time and we always tried to cheer them up in the chat. we surely defended/attacked hard because we wanted the planet yet we always tried to cheer up the enemy and give them hints at the end. its a start i especially try to do just like the bringing back the RP element to CW.

i also know that i had many toxic rants in the past myself. (pretty much everytime someone trolls me with bad arguments)
its something i am not proud of. i always hated that part about me gaming but i know i done wrong things, said bad things and i give my best to change that. problem is, if no one talks about it you will never change but the talking is uncomfortable.

it might be a lost cause forever but i still hope that we as community turn things around in the first place so we can have fun and settle things before we get stuff implemented we all hate.

and again I will ask
What do you do when they QQ because you rolled them up quickly?
Prolong the game?

What do you do in the next game when they now QQ that you're dragging the game out?
End it quickly?

Point being people are going to QQ regardless and if you can't handle losing that's a personal issue, not something PGI, other players, or anyone else for that matter should be concerned about.

If a player wants to be a poor loser that's on them. If they don't want to "lose", then don't play a game that keeps score.

Not a single solitary player past their cadet bonus has a 100% win rate. Not one. If they did they'd be posting screenshots all over the forums. Yet, for some reason, there's a "special" section of the community that shouldn't have to "deal" with losing?

A player raging, ranting, rubbing an opponent's nose in it, etc. is poor sportsmanship and can many times be reported due to violating CoC for language, harassment, etc. That's what your recourse is. The recourse isn't "Let's QQ on the forums because I lost and now I feel bad about myself"

You win some and you lose some. Win quietly and lose gracefully.

Having said that, again, I agree, the community needs to do some self-policing and do things like report players and not be a dbag when they win and NOT QQ about it when the lose. Don't think for one second that's PGI's fault though.

Jeah, and when you try do avoid spawn farming in an already won attack by shooting omega you get teamkilled. Happened to me more then once.

Lol....do you mean the match where you as a big premade told me as a solo to lead the charge out of the gate and then didn´t follow? Trolling solos in your matches much?
Then you decided to stay at the gates and easily farm the one by one incoming enemys instead giving them a fight like i did. Of course you had better stats then me.

But that´s why you are part of the problem while i try to be part of the solution.

Why are you blaming the gamemode for bad map design? The maps need to be redesigned anyways, isn't it easier to just redesign them so they can't do that on counter-attack rather than getting rid of a perfectly good gamemode?

While they are at it they can fix the other problems with the maps like all the cluster gates that are way too close together that allows the defenders to sit in a central location to protect all gates instead of having the gates spread out so the defenders have to actually scout the gates and rotate to defend them.
