Recently I took part in a recruitment video for my unit here

and I found it quite fun despite the number of bloopers and screw ups we had.
It took about 4 to 6 hours choosing the spots in the maps, coordinating the march at the end and asking help for people to join in the march.

So that got me wondering.

Would anyone be interested in a Drama/Action series for MWO using in game recordings with the spectator mode? I'm not referring to short parody videos that lasts 2-3 mins like Battlefield Friends (in which using animations would have better effects than in game recordings). I'm referring to like 10 to 15 min videos. It doesn't have to be once a week. Maybe once every 2-3 weeks?

The explosions, laser effects and terrain stuff is damn awesome in MWO and I feel that it would go well if recorded at the highest graphical settings. The hardest part in any video series though, is the script writing. I'm sure we can figure that out another time as a team. I'm thinking of making a tragic start though.

There are some questions about the entire project. For example, will we be uploading the video to someone's channel or a new one dedicated to it (together with a dedicated email) ? How are we able to coordinate timings suitable for everyone? Will people even be interested in it?

I'm not going to start recruiting until I find out what people think about this.
Also, even if I do start recruiting, I would prefer not to take leadership of the group but make it a "Group" thing. We should work as a team, and sort things out through a majority vote I guess. I am okay with being a secretary of sorts for the group though.

Well the focus is on the idea rather than the recruitment video but I'll be happy to pass down any reviews to the person who made that video.

I'm not sure if we can do stuff from the novels cause i only read the first book so far.
I'm pretty sure we have enough maps for a season or two, not sure how many CW maps exists in number though.

Then first you need a writer who is well versed in battletech lore.
Then you need a storyboard concept artist.
and then you need someone who can direct a scene.
you need a cast with a large set of mechs, skins and colors
you need voice actors (if needed)
and finally you need someone who can professionally edit videos.

I think we have some people on the forums who can do all of those, people like Iqfish, wauweli and Heffay on top of my mind

Do the people actually get tagged or is it just a direct link to their profile?
I was thinking since the maps were quite little we don't need well versed in battletech lore since, like I said before, we could do original stories but following the logic of the lore like eg, clan superior tech or smth like that.

Also since I see you have some sort of urbanmech thingy on your signature, might as well add this in.

Just played a game on my 104kph AC/20 urbanmech.
Ran out of ammo (17 shots).
Ran right into the enemy team, no one cared about me.
Walked right in front of a warhawk.
He didn't realise I was in front of him. Was busy ER Lasering and LRMing
Walked front and back, front and back (bumping into him) for a long time.
Finally realised I was in front of him.
Tried to alpha me, but overheated and shutdown.
I was typing in chat "WARHAWK NO I WANT HUG"
"DON'T KILL ME WARHAWK I WANT HUG"
Then he turned on override and overheated himself to death.
"NO WARHAWK Y U KILL YOURSELF?"
"I WANTED HUG!"
