So, it's actually sounding like the ongoing problem with peripherals PGI has had since the beginning. I just didn't think it would affect normal peripherals like keyboard or mouse.

Ive had this issue sometimes too but it'll be something like i was not in game. usually a tapping of the movement keys fixes it for me.

Seriously, its just a dropped packet issue and the server isn't sure what to do with your mech so it defaults for whatever reason to turning you to the right to auto correct itself back to a known location based on what you are seeing client side.
Just hold D or S (or which ever direction your are looped into going) down for a couple seconds and the server will catch it in the next cycle and update your location/break the loop.
