2x AC5, 2x ERLL, 4x Small Laser, XL260. A build more dedicated to longer ranges but still has small lasers for close quarters.

I tend to shy away from the ballistics with this one just because it can't carry a lot of ammo AND the ballistic without running an XL. And without structure quirks, I've found this mech is real squishy with an XL.
RFL-3N
2 LPLs in the arms, 4 MLs, AMS. Dump the AMS if you want another DHS.

RFL-3N
AC20 (3 tons), STD280, 4 medium lasers. Endo/Ferro/DHS all unlocked. Fun times so far
Though I must say, the RFL-3C has been giving me the best results so far. 4+ K:D and 450+ damage per match through 20+ games. Last game was a nice come from behind 12-11 skirmish on Tourmaline. Killed a Mad Dog midway through, then once it was 5v3 I mopped up 3x Timbers, Shadow Cat and the Cheetah. Underestimating my 3C is dangerous apparently.

I run 2xAC10, 3tons ammo, 2xML, all in the arms. Endo, Ferro, STD240, one external DHS, and as much armor as I can carry-near to the max.
I like the build a lot because I can set up firing groups to isolate each AC and the MLs separately, the better to manage heat, and you don't have the 3C's problem of not being able to aim the lasers up to hit UAVs or down to shoot at mechs below you. The AC10 is effective for my playing style, and it's just maneuverable enough speed-tweaked to backstop the assault lance, which is my preferred way to play. Every time I drop in solo queue, I run for the assaults wherever they may be and tag along with them, to help run off lights and add my ACs to whatever the meanest and most aggressive assault in the bunch is shooting at. My best partner is an Atlas S with an attitude. Clan assaults have jets and I get left behind sometimes, though I've had fun matches tagging along with Executioners and Dires. You just have to not be in their way when they need to back up and be sure not to shoot them if you're playing peek-a-boo while using him as a mobile shield. Essentially, you're trying to add your 30 points to his firepower. Doing this is the most fun I've ever had in MWO, honestly.
Love your assaults. Keep them alive. Because if he dies...you're next.
