Full production of the corrected Bushwacker began just after the Truce of Tukayyid, and the 'Mech has since become a favorite of MechWarriors in the Draconis and Capellan Marches of the Federated Suns.

I wants one plez

Oh... and its an IS Mech !

With Russ' new rule that any mech with current MWO-tech is viable even if out of timeline, there seem to be 3 Bushwacker variants that are possible. The BSW-X1, BSW-X2, and BSW-S2 fit the bill.

Although I do still have some MW3 + MW4 nostalgia for it, I wouldn't expect it to turn out all that great in MWO...

Bushwacker would finally give Stormcrow some competition.

Someone actually worked on a 3D model for it, however, the links are broken now, but the thread was made 2-3 years ago:

Yeah, the Bushwacker is pretty iconic so I'm sure they're going to add it sometime. Its main drawback in MWO would be the lack of energy hardpoints, I think the most of any of the variants is 2? Would still be a fun mech to run dual UAC5 builds or such on, though, assuming one of the variants has at least 2 ballistic weapons outside the CT.

Really, even if it was a Vindicator I'd still use it for the sake of its looks.

Haha if this were about the Assassin you'd be all over it.
(BTW we need the Assassin.)

Yes, it is time for the Bushwacker!

There are too many humanoid mechs and not enough chicken-walker aircraft torso style (especially in the Medium category). We need the Bushwacker! :)

Honest question (no snark intended), when did the Bushwhacker get so popular?

When the Bushwacker does release in MWO, I'm outfitting them in grey camo and calling one variant "Luke" and another one "Butch"!

My recollection (from MW3...I honestly don't remember it even being a part of MW4) was that the Bushwacker was the mech you played on the first few levels and then once you got something else (anything else) you never played it again. Though I would undoubtedly buy the thing (always need more low to the ground chicken walkers), I think it would suffer a similar fate here.

That's true of EVERY past MechWarrior/Mechcommander title. Play heavier and heavier mechs until you are at the end of the game with an assault. As a Medium, the Bushwacker was always going to be eclipsed by a heavier mech. Same with all other medium mechs a long with lights and heavies. So, the reason it was only played a bit wasn't that the Bushwacker was bad, it was that the Bushwacker wasn't an assault mech.

MechWarrior Online is probably the first title you can actually play something other than an Assault regularly and effectively. That is one nice thing about the game.

As much as I would like the Bushwacker and it's Crablike profile, IS only have 1 40t mech. Not that it isn't a good mech because it is very good but we need more choices for 40t mechs in the game. Clans are completely missing a 40t as well so an Arctic Wolf could be nice since timeline means nothing unless it's tech.

The Bushwacker itself looks like it will just be a low profile 55t with Shadow Hawk hardpoints and no JJ. Could be good if they intend to actually go through with it this year. Mediums and Lights are my mechs and all these mech packs of Assaults and Heavies aren't appealing to me at all.
