Brawling was attempted in at least 2 of the 6 games, and that didn't work either.

Competitive play is not in any way similar to any of the public or group queues in MWO. It's practically an entirely different game. A quad UAC-10 DWF or 2 LPL + 2 Gauss + 3 CERML DWF might be amazing in public queue, but try and take that against a good team on Tourmaline Desert in a competitive match, and you'll find out very quickly just how good CERLL + Gauss loadouts can be.

Sorry, but the fact of the matter is you don't even have the slightest clue about competitive play. What you see when you get stomped by Lords, SJR, EmP, 228, or other teams in group queue is not even remotely close to their full capability. In fact I wouldn't even say it's HALF of what they're capable of.

Don't believe me? Join a team that's participating in MRBC, and see for yourself.

I seen it there is a site called YouTube loaded with all the match you know.

I will say few things one, mech warriors doesn't need to balance the game to comp play.

Two comp teams are not even running dires so loadouts mean nothing.

Lastly as I remember they didn't have gauss at all just er lasers. Even the timber were running 4 er lasers. i remember the dires getting cored out the backs too. Didn't remind me of any comp play I seen.

When you have to seriously consider if your hot Timberwolf can handle that fresh BJ over there...something is wrong. Those things were soaking like an atlas.

So be fair, they nerfed the timby's down after release...and the dwolfs. Sometimes the IS quirks get ridiculous and shift the entire meta. Like the large pulse wubverine or the ridiculous ac5 dragon quirks. Sometimes PGI get carried away with quirks they don't realize will be exploited by the player base.

PGI selecting good and bad mechs with quirks is a poor system of balance to start with.

Mostly its bad players that are complaining about anything that kills them.

Sometimes they switch sides so they can complain more when things change and they magically still get killed by any weapon their opponent uses.

I dunno, PGI participated in MRBC, and look what happened to them. Posted Image

Back when the quirks were crazy, people didn't really objectively look at what the quirks did. It took multiple iterations, and obviously that Clan vs IS mini-test/event to shed a little bit a light.

Unfortunately, people were not really analyzing it in an overall vacuum, occasionally overly focused on some aspects, but ignoring the rest.

For the most part, it's better now, but it's still broken for various mechs (generally of the underperforming type, with some obvious overperforming ones).

Frankly, if you are the first to yell "Clans OP" or "IS Quirks OP" w/o actually being critical when there are benefits on your end, you are part of the problem.

Seriously though...

Because Gyrok.
