I dont see the reason to fire up my steam just to play this when i can just play this directly.

Use steam so the game patches in the background while you are at work or porking your local street walker.

I swear the "sky is falling", the game is broken/dying thing is becoming part of the weekly cycle.

The cycle of thread suck-atude:

Monday: Match Maker is broken or I got beat a lot this weekend and it SUCKS!
Tuesday: CW SUCKS!
Wednesday: Balance SUCKS!
Thursday: Cone of fire needed or Convergence SUCKS!
Friday: PGI SUCKS! now with more the game is dying!

Certainly we need the forums to whine and complain. But people, we need to up our games cuz its getting pretty predictable. Maybe we need a new mech pack.

Or use the stand alone client as its updating in the background. There's no difference, both patch automatically once you run them. Its not like you have to manually download and install patches with the original client...

Steam release had no positive effect on the player base in MWO.

(thx @ PFC Carsten)

There are more people interested in Euro Truck Simulator 2!!!!! than in MWO.

You cant find MWO in the top 100.

Without actual data of total people logged, the OP's post is pointless.

Have you had at least one class in statistics so you have the modicrum of intelligence in presenting data. Lets go through the logic train that you missed:

1st) You show steam stats for Top 100 games. MWO is not present in the top 100.
2nd) You did NOT show any history to show MWO play behavior since its been released on Steam
3rd) MWO is split between two clients the native MWO and the modified one using Steam to send stats to Steam. Therefore, when using Steamstats, at best you can only talk about the Steam side of the house and not the MWO side of the house.
4th) You did not present in any way to show that Steam has had no positive impact on MWO at all.

Lastly, get a better data source showing the release stats on Steam and current play activity. And understand that if MWO released on Steam and got 1 player from Steam, it means releasing on Steam increased players for MWO. If by some miracle releasing MWO on Steam caused MWO non-steam players to leave more than the new Steam players coming in, then yes you'd have a correct statement, but lets be frank your entire post is one hell of a lie.

That's one of my favorite quotes.

There are Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics... Twain (quoting Disraeli as someone here pointed out [its not my fault Twain is cooler])

This game got very bad reviews from current PLAYERS just before the game was released on steam...i posted this info before the game went live on steam

Also this is just an 1st/3rd person shooter style game...its not somehting most gamers are going to sit around playing all day
its just not that good of a game...i suspect aprox 80% of this player base ranges between 1 hour a day to once a week..
another fact...dew to all the carebears and whiners this game really cant be considerd mech warrior anymmore as the game mechs are so off compared to the table top that its not worth the time to bother...mainly cuz its easier to use the nerf bat and break the game,(AGAIN) dew the the cry babies..rather than come up with a proper MM
could be wrong but i dout it...and no-1 is ever going to stay long for a game focused on tredmill grind with elements of p2w
Most of all with no proper comunity chat system..players are not gonna hang around for a game where the only way they can chat is via a forum post.

P.S i could be wrong...its happen before =)

This is incorrect.

Even though the players are really critical of this game, they all gave positive comments, feedback and help to new players on Steam.

This is also not true. Case in point World of Tanks, Warthunder and a myriad of other games which are nothing, but pure grind. People like grind.

That's a rather specific estimate - what do you base it on?

All of the comments i read about MWO on steam before steam release wer not only bad they wer in some cases hostile

true enuff but those games have community chat where players can speak to each other to communicate and take a break from said grind as well as discuss the game without forum after forum post...this game doesnt..so when its break time its log off time...then play a diff game

i simply remember reading many of the forum post on steam before MWO went live on steam....i also remember it was so bad at one point the MWO post wer taken down

Op's point is useless even with data, im sure it would get interpreted wrong.

Steam launch has no real bearing on this game, it was here before and im sure it will be here after.

People have things to do, It's called LIFE.

I remember this same, exact, degrading thread a month ago, and I had to explain that people had something called Life to do.

I'm sorry if I sound salty but I am NOT, and I say NOT, going to explain why I disagree, because I do Disagree strongly with this.

MWO has more players now than it did before the steam release, its a niche game, always has been, always will be, steam has been good for MWO, simple as that.

I joined at steam launch, and as an old time mw player I have to say mwo is a huge dissapointment. Its sad that battletech games come to this. Well, back to waiting to a better one.

World of tanks is the same game type but they have 500000 players. Its not about the niche but about the quality of a game.

With bad matchmaking, bad balance and beginners unfriendly gamestyle u cant win new players for your game.

Well maybe you can enlighten us why half of the few new players from steam already left MWO and why the community doesnt grow.
