It was a fun mech for me at the time, being new to the game, but once I discovered direct fire mechs, I never looked back.

Tell the Griffin that, which has seen consistent use in comp since the rebalance.
That said, the Kintaro isn't as good as the Griffin at SRM boating, it is like an IS Stormcrow without all the awesome things the Stormcrow benefits from (like Clan XL, lighter SRMs, etc).

Honestly, if you are staring down KGCs and TBRs in a Kintaro and winning then the people you are playing against just aren't very good.

Well I'm turning people into my own personal punching bags with the thing quite consistently in Tier 2 matches, so if I understand the way PSR works I could be playing against T4 players sometimes, right?

Kintaro in the right hands and with the right team can be a beast.

You can play against T4, yes. Most T3+ players should have no trouble 1v1 vs a KTO in a KGC or TBR unless they have some kind of really terrible build. It is a bit of an underrated mech, but it should be no match for those two mechs 1v1.

I remember I ran out in the backyard and screamed.
After it was over with I told my wife about it.
She lol'd and said "That's nice baby, but you still need to do the dishes."
At my age the small things are all worthwhile.
No that's not my girl below.

The TBR I killed was sitting in the back way behind his team on Canyon Network LRMing things all by himself. He did have a Raven with him, but I dropped him before the Raven could do much of anything. I didn't pay attention to his build, but I did note that the weapons he attempted to bring to bear against me were clan large pulse lasers. I flanked around specifically to kill him, since that's where all the LRMs were coming from. The King Crab I killed in a brawl was a dual AC/20 build with medium lasers. The trick was to just move around in erratic patterns in between shots, and he apparently wasn't smart enough to save his attempts at shooting me for when I had to expose myself to him to take my own shot. The Timberwolf I simply dropped so quickly that he didn't really have a chance to return fire much at all. I blew off one of his side torsos in two solid alphas and then his other side torso in another two. The King Crab I CT cored and he simply couldn't hit me.

Seriously.. Try the ECM Griffen with XL300, quad SRM6, 2ML, and JJs. Sneaker than a Kintaro, okay-ish model profile, and the SRMs are all high-mounted for ease of clearance... It's my favorite Medium SRM Bomber at the moment. If you like Kintaro, you'll like the ECM Griffen.

I'll try that. But right now, I must master this Kintaro.
