Think I have to get a Marauder (that's what's drawing me back)

I think a year and a half was before the release of the current mechlab client and certainly before the smurfy like interface (much improved usability in my opinion).
Lots of new mechs for both clans and IS including customizable clan mechs in the IIC pack ... generally considered to be glass cannons in many ways.
I bought the $20 Marauder pack and really like it. I also pre-ordered the archer since it looks like fun but I haven't bought any of the other unseen.
New Polaris map that I consider one of the best but opinions vary. I think also Veridian Bog and another map may be new in that time frame.
Lots of fiddling with balance. Quirks (and quirk adjustments when they make mistakes) on IS mechs to try to make up the difference a bit with clan weapons. Lasers are currently one of the more popular weapons since they are hit scan and you don't need to lead targets.
In game VOIP was added but I think that was more than a year and a half ... not sure.
Introduction of PSR and tiers for pilot ranking and matchmaking since too many folks complained about the Elo system.
Game mode and map are now selected by pre-game voting instead of hard-selected game mode and random maps.
There has been a fairly steady stream of incremental development ... nothing earth-shattering or ground breaking.
However, MWO is still, fundamentally, the same game as in closed beta. 15 minute matches with two teams of opponents with more or less equal ranking. If you enjoyed the game before, you will likely enjoy it now. If you got bored before, you will likey get bored after a while again ... however, if you enjoy the time in between it is probably worthwhile (I just take breaks and play something else when I get tired of the rinse and repeat nature of MWO ... and I keep hoping that they will eventually add features that encourage longer term play ... but I have been waiting for that for 3 years now ).
P.S. I think the first two posters have very short memories ... or are just generally down on the game

I remember you from Mektek ( you won't recognize this name), how ya' been buddy?
And the game has not changed at all really. Just new mechs to play with, and a couple new maps.
Also, the Marauder is a very good 75 ton chasis. The way its side torsos are, its incredibly tanky. Just don't put an XL engine in it.

Aside from a map or two you didn't list any actual meaningful content. CW is an utter borefest and should not be considered acceptable content at all. I would consider someone who thinks this list as being content as silly since when you really break down most of those things they don't truly do anything for gameplay. The game is essentially the same as it ever was since 4 years ago.
I mean be serious....a crash reporting tool, tonnage limits? considered content?! LOL. Like I said most your list is not even content.

Straw man...you can't refute that progress has been made so you attempt to distract by attacking the definition of content.

Lol ... I hope Russ didn't actually say that in the townhall ... it would be like history repeating itself. Other than that, I haven't herard any specific timeline on that feature and PGI has been much better at NOT giving specific dates for features.
