No doubt... but being that these are both assaults, and move and twist fairly slowly and at a limited angle, chances are, if you're shooting at either of these mechs from the front hemisphere while they're twisting, you're still going to get full view of the torsos from lock to lock with even the highest burn lasers. The Atlas would still be at a disadvantage here. The Atlas might get a bit of a respite when hit on from dead-aside, but it gets a lot of protection from the arms anyway from this angle. You're going to get a lot betters shot at the side of the Dire Wolf, but you're still looking at a tiny profile overall (remember the surface area to volume ration on a compact structure is smaller than a more spread-out one).
