They could give the Hatchet mechs extra damage when they ram into stuff.

I do not think I explained that well.

What I mean is Put Axeman into the game, even IF it cant melee currently.

For now that Axe would still make a very good shield arm.

We need maps.

Plenty of mechs in the game... they spit them out like candy from a candy machine now.. But we play all of them on the same 2-3 favored maps..

It is not about the axman, it is about the new mechanic (melee) it would bring. That is what we want, more gameplay. It is the same with new guns, we need new toys in this game.

Melee would actually be something new. New weapons? Another different colored laser doesn't make the game any more interesting.

What so cool , to run with a Knife/Axe/Sword of a battlefield? like the Japanese in the WKII and bleeding in the Machingunfire ,or the Medival Knights against Longbow Archers by Crecy 1346 & Azincourt 1416? Thats Mount & Blade ? today many whines thats the not come in Polar in Short-Brawl Range ...Melee cool for Solaris ,or in TT , who no Pilot can aim to Targets ..in a FPS im not seeing a great use for Melee ...3t for a sword ,or better for 3 DHS,bigger Engine,ECM,36 Small laser or 3 t Ammo?

Yen lo wang claws vs hatchet man axes. I think it'd make a good angle for Solaris if they can make melee work in the future.
