As with all the other "money grubbing" conspiracy theories, like the classic "PGI released mechs overpowered then nerfs them after the initial sales" line, there are FAR more instances where the opposite is true. Yeah, the TBR/SCR got nerfed after release, and the ACH (to a VERY limited degree) but look at how many other Clan mechs launched horrifically terrible and saw nothing to this date but very, very minor (and insufficient) buffs.

If PGI was trying to sell more mech packs as their balancing goals, they would be buffing mechs that are otherwise garbage.

Saying they're just un-nerfing the Timberwolf to see more is pretty weak; most who want one already have on, or who would buy one would buy one anyways. It's not like the energy nerfs where that severe in that you could limit exposure, and even with them the TBR was still pretty much the best Clan mech.

This. I mean, I take Orions personally, because I love them to bits - but the TBR is better. There's a lot of comparative dead weight in the Clan lineup (yes, IS side as well, we know, we're not talking about that now) so clan drop decks being heavily TBR weighted is no surprise.

Funny, because the only Clan Mechs on sale right now have no quirks, and the Invasion packs containing mechs that have negative quirks have never been discounted as whole packs.

hmm, I must have missed the memo RE: Run all timbers/lights....

I've been running a Warhawk, Ebon, Crow, Crow.... Sometimes Ebon, Ebon, Ebon, Crow; I might throw in a HBR, but if I do take a timber, its usually on boreal, and I only take one.

Did you realize the TBR is out for C-Bills? Since, like, forever?

If PGI was making 'Mechs OP to sell them, they'd push the IICs, the Marauder, Warhammer and Rifleman - you know, the stuff you actually have to buy packs for (which, coincidentally, have been IS' Mechs of late).

Well, yes the too strong clanners git their quirks removed, the too weak clanners hardly buffed, so it did screw inner-clan-balance.

And is balance? still bad as before.

and clan-IS balance? well also bad because none of the above is in balance. The only thing that changes is sometimes the top clanchassis are better, sometimes the IS top chassis are better. But a general better balance? Not really happened.
