Great work and great idea. I once thought about doing this but my lack of texturing skills let me down.

Also I asked wolfman permission to use his models for the project I intended but he never got back to me. Perhaps you can get hold of him , his expansion added loads of mechs, it will keep you busy for a long long time.

Keep up the great work.

Thank you all for the comments!

My brief foray into Bavaria is now over, and I here I present the Cat:

Spoiler

Once more I've used a CDN penny for comparison. It is a little over 18mm wide. This build went quite well, despite some of the tiny pieces (the toes in particular). It gives me hope for the Urbanmech, which I will be tackling soon, perhaps this afternoon if time allows.

The textures, I think, turned out quite well, the cockpit panes are sharp enough against the white.

I'll post this up on my site sometime today: http://tcfgaming.com

After I've built the Urbie I'll be modifying and texturing both the Timberwolf and the Mad Dog as they share a leg-set.

Enjoy,
Tirick

Well, the Urbanmech is buildable, although only just. Any smaller would have to be 2d flat elements. As it is I made a few build errors, the dome is a little flattened for example.

Spoiler

I've been presenting these 'as is'. Normally I would be touching the edges up with paint to elimate some of the cut edge error.

At any rate, I have a few modifications to make, although I may post this up tonight on my site.

Enjoy,
Tirick

I just saw this thread. This is absolutely incredible and your papercraft skill is amazing. You should seriously be proud of this dude, that's awesome.

I just came across this as well, this is some amazing artwork, for sure. I admire the patience, Lol. I dunno if I would be steady enough to do all this. I'm just a pencil sketcher.

Much much kudos to the artists here.

Hey, awesome to see you here and a founder at that! (and that is still a great looking build). Hope to see you in game.

Where else would I be but here! And yeah, I did get the founder pack, but not the ones with the mech(s). Don't really care much for those 4 mechs.

Tirick Fire, you must have the hands of a surgeon to create such delicate models. Very impressive.

Thank you all for your kind comments!

The original MC2 legs for the Timberwolf and the Mad Dog (they appear to share the same leg design) are not very close to canon, so I've made modifications from the original. The new design should prove a little easier to assemble as well. I have a few tweaks yet to make to the models then I will begin to texture, perhaps this weekend if the weather is foul.

The original can be seen on the right, attached to the Timberwolf in the second shot. These will be replaced with a shared identical model (it will have a separate UV map from the 'main' model in both cases).

Enjoy,
Tirick

Very impressive, there are few things better than a near microscopic mech blasting at your ankles.

The Mad Dog (Vulture) is now complete, at least the panel and detailing layout. I've not fully settled on the colour scheme. I may brave a camo pattern (Ghost Bear) for the prototype build.

Spoiler

I made minor scale modification to the model to bring the legs to the same size as the Timber Wolf (Mad Cat), this should be mostly unnoticeable, and allows me to share resources easier. I hope to get one built in the next few days, and get it up on my site for the end of the week.

Timber Wolf is next.

Enjoy,
Tirick

Just to put this out there. I am working on the "Mad Cat' now, and I have a much better understanding of what shapes work at this scale, enough to try to make one from scratch. I'd really like a 'real' Marauder (as in unseen), but for obvious reasons there are not a lot of good 3-angle pictures (that I can find at any rate). I can probably work with the pictures that are avaialble, but if anyone has front/side/top pictures of one (drawn or photos of the original miniature), I'd appreciate them.

If not, I'll see what I can do on my own.

Thank you,
Tirick

Not sure if it's quite what you need, but you could probably take some MW4 screenies of it from different angles as a reference?

Thank you, I'll look into the MW4 models. There are bound to be gems in there as well.

In the meanwhile, I stumbled on a Marauder model made by someone named Whammy and converted to Pepakura by vlmarshall (or ShiftDel, hard to tell from the post stream). It is perfect for my needs, with elements I'm pretty certain I can use directly, rescaled. I'll try that for now.

I to am a fan of paper mechs but i don't make them from scratch like you do
My paper Mechs stand at about 18 inch that's about what the size of that Paper cat pic that has been posted is .

Keep up the good work and do keep posting

I've built the MAD, although it was quite difficult at that size. I'm not 100% sure it is the exactly correct size (the gun pod is a little taller than the Atlas, although that could be build/fold stack up). I meant for it to be about 18 m tall, a little bigger than the Timberwolf (which is in UV/Texture layout, btw).

All in all a good model. As with the others I've printed a second one, but I'll wait to build it. Next up is the Mad Dog, which is printed and waiting patiently for its turn.

Spoiler

Enjoy,
Tirick
