Meanwhile the Rifleman, especially the LK, are some of my best mechs right now according to my stats

I think your problem here is user error

It is as it often is with similar arguments: the fault may well not be in either the 'mech or the pilot, but the compatibility of the two.

Fire support mech is for.... fire support.

And the Jager-DD w/ 3x UAC5 and the quirks to boot still wins.
At least the Rifleman is prettier...

Ah! but he said AC40 BoomJager! Not a DakkaJager or the much vaunted AC2 PlinkJagger.

Though if your drop deck is over 5 tons, the Rifleman is a good substitute. :)

I've used a quad AC/2 Legend Killer, it is amusing....

I really like my duel ac20 brawl build. Killing a exe solo with it was my crowning achievement it's a fun mech to play.

I hope your joking, if not look up the Black knight, Flashman and Lancelot, you'll probably need new pants when you see the latter two.

Be careful with that; he might get to asking what your shoe size is and if your free Friday evening.

Try 2x AC/2 + 1x AC/10. It is amusing-er.

AC/2 to give them the shakes, AC/10 to give them the sh*ts.

quad AC2 anything is always amusing. Especially if you have a good macro and terrify the enemies at range.

It stops being amusing the moment the enemy realizes what you are doing and just decides to face tank you.

That depends. Is he buying dinner? It's going to take at least a couple large pizzas to bribe me for an auto cannon inspection. Posted Image

You don't even need a macro, depending on your equipment (both physical and digital). The trick with quad AC/2s is to keep your opponent at a range where they can't retaliate - 600ish meters is usually a good place to start. Fire them in alternating pairs so that your damage doesn't spread too badly if/when rolled, but still dishes out the hits fast enough to deter closing on your position.

Well now you know what's happened if suddenly Papa Johns is delivering and you know you didn't order!

As for the Quad AC/4' riflemen....I think I'll have to try that just to see what happens. Though...in that case you would not need a macro as standard trigger discipline would suffice. Simply being aware of whats going on around you would be good enough to avoid being 'face-tanked' as you put it.

What does the pilot have to do with the Jager having more structure quirks than the Rifleman? Like double when it should only have a fraction?

Source? Already provided my source and it doesn't say that at all. It is supposed to have 30% more armor than a Jager and be able to mix it up with lights and mediums.

Source? Tabletop record sheets, it's notoriously underarmored for it's weightclass.

This post is about new mech, which I have tested enough already.
I'll cry a bit about Rifleman, using my bad english, so just skip it if you not interested.

PGI, give MOAR love to Rifleman, please.

First of all, give armor/structure quirks to all Rifleman's semi-torsos and improve those quircks which are present already...
Oh, they need your love, PGI, trust me...
If you carry XL engine - death in one shot is very common.
If you downgraded to standard engine - huh... you'll lose weapons in no time (but half of them you lost already in garage, so you can't lose too much of them in battle).

It is very hard to fight against other magically quirked IS and naturally powerful Clan mechs for poor Rifleman.
A good game with even 600-700 damage? Miracle...

Second issue is Lazy Killer. Yes, I am correct RFL-LK's name must be Lazy Killer.
So, PGI, please, rename this mech or bring as much love as possible to this piece of sh... mech.
Rifleman hero is worst Rifleman ever. Even RFL-3C with the same hardpoints is better than Lazy Killer, because of better quirks.

Oh you poor thing, your mech takes damage when getting focus fired, that must be so traumatic.

Don't worry, just cry for +100 armor quirks on every mech component and everything will be all better.

Both my 3N and LK for CW run standard 250's, dual UAC/5+6t ammo and dual MLas, Endo+DHS of course, up armoured all the way, save for a couple of points shaved to even out weight.

I don't think that's been decided, yet.

But here are mine:

RFL-3C
RFL-3N
RFL-5D

RFL-LK

According to gman - Metamechs. The rifleman is a high Tier 2 mech...

http://metamechs.com...meta-tier-list/

So probably not going to get any love for it.

I'd have never thought to make some of those, but I'm going to use some of them just because they seem unique. Legend Killer one is definately one I'll try out.
