I still prefer NARC though, because it lasts even after you die, keeps a target marked and makes it easier to re-aquire a lock when you have to twist out some damage.

King Crab has much better hardpoints for LRMs than the Atlas. It shoots the missiles at almost a 90 degrees angle. Furthermore, it has more missile tubes (20x2,15x2) while Atlas is stuck with (10, 6x3), and does not have to expose itself while tagging.

Base cost: 16,389,225
Seismic Sensor: 6,000,000 to see those sneaky buggers coming
Advanced Target Decay: 6,000,000
AC/20 Cooldown: 3,000,000
LRM 15 Cooldown: 3,000,000
LRM 10 Cooldown: 3,000,000
Total cost: 37,389,225 C-Bills.
Watching lighter mechs try to hold the line while 2+ Assaults LRM from the back: Priceless.
Thinking you're not even partially at fault when your team loses because your LRMs pulled decent damage: [redacted]
Note: Sarcasm flows through this post (for the sarcasm impaired).

OK, Ive got to say that this is the understatement of the year. Its like saying a soap box car needs a little help to get to the top of a hill.
That Atlas is completely useless without complete support from your entire team.
You may be able to narc your targets, but need to get close enough to them that your LRMs will be useless within the next 0,5 seconds if the opponent sees your build adn know s what he is doing. You may be able to TAG your opponent,. but they will know where you are even before they get the incomming missile warning due to the laserpointer you are waving around. Same result, it just takes longer for them to reach you due to the TAG range.
Once the opponent gets to you, 2/3 of your damage dealing weapons are in your centre torso, meaning a circling light just has to worry about a single med laser and the occasional short burst of 3 med lasers and an MG if they happen to run directly infornt of you.
Destroying your Right torso will not kill you, but give you severe ammunition problems for your weapons on your left torso. Destroying your left arm will deffinitely end up destroying all your LRM launchers and may end up destroying your Engine due to the amount of ammunition that is exploding there if it has not been used up by that time (low probability, as Ammo is first taken from the Torso before Arms /legs are used up).
Basically, you are a slow walking suicide dud as soon as anything comes close to you and you need 100% support from your teammates to keep locks for you until you reach the fight and also to keep any mech from targeting you to be able to deal good damage. If you are in the fight and getting your own locks, you are too slow to re-position yourself if needed.
That is so far from being a "good" LRM boat that it isnt even funny any more.

But 4 LRM15s on a Highlander IIC !
And smack stuff with a UAC10 and 2 MPL at nearer ranges!

The only good LRM mechs are the faster medium and heavy mechs since they can more effectively get to an angle on the field to put their LRMs to good use to flush out enemies.

so statistically lrm's are pro and you can even p2w, just buy MC for around 130$ and then spent them on c-bills
MWO confirmed for P2W

Thanks for that thread Mister D.
It's a great inspiration for every LRM-minded MechWarrior. I already feel my Tier rising just by building those mechs to your suggestion in the mechlab

needs more ammo in the XL side torso xD
needs less ac 10 and more lbx 10 becasue lbx sound > Ac 10 sound.
but honestly this kind of build is what MWO should be about some mixed weapons that people should manage to use and not one button config machines.

Also I chose LRM-10+ART because LRM-15 and 20 shotgun just too much, DPS on paper doesn't exactly translate to damage on target, Even though LRM-15 might be puking out more DPS, the % of missles that will miss their target or do glancing blows is not worth the tonnage, at least I know that a better % of these LRM-10 will be landing.
Having AMS, NARC, BAP, and Tag with target decay vs the hordes of ECM and RadarDep saturation, its the little things that can turn the tide, because you create a more level playing field for your team to capitalize on.
Revealing targets and giving your team targets for a long time, seeing where the enemy is and where they are going, LRM's were just icing on top of a big fat cake of near indestructible Steiner Scout lance prowess.
That is the best part, and maybe the worst part, because unless I'm getting focused by a good chunk of the enemy team, you're not stopping an Atlas, not with these quirks, and not in time before I've planted enough Narcs to slow an advance.
I could probably accomplish the same goal I set out with in a Raven, an Iceferret, Shadowhawk, or StormCrow, but I won't be staying alive long enough to capitalize on it.
Bottom line, it still comes down to Team support, I was just having some fun and it ended up working well enough
That and I got bored of laser vomit, and havn't touched LRM's in a long time, and when I did nobody would ever target for me, so I solved that problem myself
