Oh man, that Dragon on the cover though!
Look at that high-mounted ballistic!

THAT is how the Dragon should look like here too!

The cover is made by Alex, right? Definitely looks like his art. A solid 5/7.

I love how Battletech seems to have a second breath. Pleasant to thought MWO probably was a starter of this rebirth.. Maybe the game itself will have a second breath someday. Waiting for it passionately.

Ooh, perfect score! :D

I believe it was said elsewhere that Alex did this new batch of artwork. Shame there's no new Cyclops design, the Wolf Pack cover (http://www.battlecor...roducts_id=2925) shows one and it could use the facelift.

Thought they would streamline the "modern" battlemech-pictures, so that the mechs look more or less the same regardless of the product.
At least it would make sense.

But in the end... I want this Dragon! Not this shabby rustbucket we got in MW:O!
Honestly, in this game the mech looks like some kind of bipedal dumptruck. The mech on the cover instead looks like a warmachine which has to be feared.

The other style of Dragon was considered earlier in MWO development.

What are you even on about? The one on the cover is much closer to its original design than the MWO one.

This is all great news.

but the pricing is off.

I'm sorry, but 99c for a book, then the next in the series is 3 times the price and the 3rd in the series is 5 x the price?

Dont get me wrong, I love me a bit of shadowrun, and my 1st editions are looking, a lil too well read, but i guess the whole pricing strategy for those 3 is to entice someone whos never read them to read book 1, then hope they wanna read book 2, and of course if the do that they will just have to finish it with book 3....

I know I did over 20 yrs ago...

I just hope they re-release all the battlectech ones as proper epub books.

While I do think this is great, I have to wonder why they're picking books at random instead of putting them out in their original publishing order. That would seem to make more sense.

Actually I did this one, but it's certainly influenced by Alex's work. I've also been working with a lot of Shimmering Sword's recent redesigns so I tried to incorporate some of his design cues as well to help unify the look across all of the Battletech products.

Here's some more of my recent work with with Catalyst if you're interested.

God I love this book! Jamie Wolf, Shin Yodma. When Jamie goes off at Wedding. One of the greatest paragraphs in BT lore.

A new mech master arises!

Congrats man, your Dragon is amazing. (so is the Griffin and Warhammer)

And that Ostscout! Wow! How did you make an OST that beautiful?!?! There must be some law against it.
(now I really want the Ostroc in this game)

Indeed Battletech started a new Golden Age. The return of the Unseen, new books, MWO pushing forward, a new PC strategy game coming... 32 years later, the franchise is alive and kicking.
(now if they just made some good animation series to put the IP in the spotlight...)

Thank you, but %100 of the design credit for the Griff, OST and Warhammer all go to Shimmering Sword, I just made the brush strokes ;)
