I'm going to need a new headset soon and am looking for recommendations.
I'm not looking for anything too fancy, MWO is the only game my son and I play and the only thing we will be using it for.
It will need to have an integrated microphone, accessible mute/volume controls and be comfortable. I'd prefer something hard wired. And of course reasonably priced.
Any suggestions?

I'm surprised no one has replied yet. Well for my 2 cents, looking at reviews at places like newegg or amazon, it looks to me like the sweet spot is $20-$30. Seems like a lot of people complain that you aren't getting a lot for spending a bunch of money on the more expensive headsets. About 2 years ago I picked up a set of $20 Rosewills which I thought had great sound quality and others thought the mic was good also. About a year ago the mic in the mouth piece gave up but fortunately there was a back up mic on the volume control which worked just as well. Last night the sound started to go in and out and it looks like the wire that leads into the earpiece is coming loose. I imagine that kind of longevity is par for the course. So today I went for the $20 Creative Fatal1ty headset. Seems to have decent reviews but I should think they'll get the job done fine.

Thanks I'll take a look at headset reviews on newegg and amazon and see what the consensus is.

I use the Razer Kraken, but no integrated mute. Has retractable mic, but I use it rarely. Great drivers though. Sound is tremendous coupled with my ASUS Xonar DSG. Much better than the Logitech phones I had previously. I got the Krakens on sale for $40 on newegg.com. I think regular they are like $60.
