Old Pilot Looking For Other Old Pilots.....

I am an old pilot from the Mechwarrior Leagues and before. I see someone took my one and only handle so I chose Blackjadeoriginal. I went by Blackjade the entire time I played the game from the time it came out through mercs 4. Mercs 3 sucked!
I was wondering if there are any old school players doing this new version of mercs. I am thinking about dusting off the neuro helmet......wait do we still use those?

Just add him in-game or search him on the forums and tell him Commander Cupcakes (or sycocys, either one should suffice) sent you. Most of us are 30+, some 40+ and older, so it won't be playing with children.

I played Kesmai's Multiplayer Online Battletech, designed off the original Mechwarrior code, in the early 1990s

Pssssh, that is nothing.
Virtual World was like 15 dollars for a single 10 min match. And that was over 20 years ago.

Vampires & Dragon's Breath (House Marik) = MPBT
3rd Sirian Lancers (House Marik) = 3025
Lothian League = NBT MW4

I ran a hell spawn, or a hellhound and my call sign was Givumh3ll when with the 9th, and Landshark when with HS. I think I knew you at some point. Not sure though. Anyways, welcome to MWO.

ROFL, tell me about it. VW was actually easier on my wallet overall, especially since it was far enough way (6hrs) that I would not be visiting it every weekend!! Anyhow, took my nephew (9-10yrs at the time) for a boy's week out and headed to Dallas for Six Flags and VW and some other place. On the 4th day I let him decide and he picked VW. Paid extra for the VHS tapes.

Nice!
I lived well within an hour of 3 of em.
However, at the price they wanted I can honestly say it was not a regular thing for me.
Fast forward many years later to the Tesla II pods running Battletech Firestorm, I really luck out. There is a shop with 8 pods in my town, and me and my friends go so regularly that the owner ends up charging us 10 bucks a day for all day play.
So given that for a very very long time I paid AT LEAST 40 dollars a month to feed my mech addiction, it is easy (sadly) for me to rationalize throwing some real cash to PGI for mech packs and bays and the like.

I can't believe it is still up. You see my handle there. I was a unit lead. Man those were some fun *a$$ days!!!
Players I can recall of off of the top of my head:
Tank
Osterizer....crazy canadian
Tryant
St Benny
Col. Wildcard or Col. Oak from the Early days
8088
Bulldozer
GrinnerWolf of course. Our founder. He wrote some Mercs fiction "Winds of change" you can check out here: http://wolfsfreelanc...d.com/info.html
It's pretty good.
Anyway I was loooking to pick up again. The MErcs on;line is similar to what we used to do in MWL.
Guess I'll download the game tonight and check it out.

Yeah. I recall blowing most of a paycheck a few times on that. Eesh.
I was in [DOA] and ran [CRW] for years before I was threatened with divorce if I didn't quit.
Got divorced anyway. Go fig.

Great to see some of the old GEnie crowd still driving mechs! When we played, it was 3025 in game, so we all are Third Succession War veterans! We ought to get some sort of badge or something
