A 20 ton mech that can put out 9.6 DPS without ever heating is damn deadly I say.

LCT-3S out-DPS that, and heat is not even the primary concern with it. Being able to stick around to plant enough quad SRM4 is.

Locust is an IS mech. Piranha is Clan mech. Why should we begrudge the Clanners their own 20 ton Light? Especially a Light that is deadly enough without hyper weapon quirks and only need some structure quirks to be useful?

Speed cap says hi.

A better candidate for next Clan light Omni is the Fire Falcon, which is basically a 25-ton OmniLocust.

Or we could just get the Locust IIC...

Seriously, 9 energy points on the stock config, with a 200 standard that goes 129.6kph. Give it a cap of 230-240 and it should be able to reach the same or near the speed of the Locust.

I'm not begrudging anything, I'm just saying that the Piranha is a face-time 'Mech and suffers all the drawbacks contained therein.

Bah, I prefer Piranha.

I love any mech that has an animal-eque visage.

Piranha is one of them.

The Piranha or Fire moth fit the needs of the clans because they're 20 tons. The only other plausible 20 tonner is the Baboon but... it'd be terrible.

20 ton mechs aren't "needed," people always have and always will just use mediums/heavies for their drop decks.

Can we get the Fire Falcon please? It looks amazing, like someone took a jenner, gave it chicken legs, a weapon rack on back and rounded the front some more. It's dreamy!

Look at it this way, Fup. Once the Clanners get a 20 ton mech, they are freeing up more weight for Assaults in their CW drop decks, should they choose to run them. And this 20 tonner (Piranha) happens to have quite a bite.

If we're doing non-omni mechs, I've always been a fan of the Spirit. For light omnimehcs, I always like the Hellion.

How many people would actually elect for that option?

I'd expect to keep seeing the usual SCR/TBR/EBJ/ACH/etc. combos as usual.

Piranha I would allow just because of funzies, although I hope it wouldn't lead to an MG nerf...

With the release of Kodiak? More than usual.
