Nice to finally have a 'buy all' option at least.

Anyways, on to my opinion. I'm actually a little disappointed there's no incentive overall for the full purchase options considering the size and price of it. Basic marketing would promote something along the lines of say, offering a $5 discount, or including an extra incentive like an extra item, something like another pattern (other than the crusader) or a color pack, extra cockpit items, etc.

I'm surprised they did nothing though, other than it being a convenient all-in-one purchase option we wanted.

It seems like a missed opportunity. Framing it as a "package" instead of just putting a buy-all button on the page leads to customer expectation that they probably didn't anticipate.

Needs to either:
Be 10% off for going all in, all at once
or
Have it's own SwagBag with modules, paint, etc and a badge titled "MobyDick".

As is, I buy the STD Pack, I now have further to get everything else, as convenient. What this does is limits impulse buys. Thus I am LESS likely to " buy them all" than if there was some "splash sale" to short circuit the brain.

It actually is a phenomenally poor bit of marketing, that even a rank amateur should have figured out. It's literally marketing 101.

*smh*

I was going to go for the Ultimate pack as I assumed there would be a discount.

However, once I realised there wasn't I decided against it.

Give us a 10% discount on the ultimate pack please PGI and I'll spend a bit more money.

Zero discount or increased early adopter rewards for something not available for over 4 months is absolutely ridiculous.

I can only presume they don't actually have a qualified marketing division.

I think it is better than to have Star Citizen level of marketing

I'm pretty sure PGI will listen to us about that pack. There is a lot of complain about it since yesterday.

I'm going to wait all the month to see if there is changes on this pack before the Early Adopter reward ends Posted Image

IMO they should offer us a hero mech if we buy the ultimate pack. New price = 70$

Or they should give us some reward like the Mad Dog for Wave I and Wave II owners, it was a good deal. The last packs i have buy are the marauder special pack (40$), the Kodiak standard pack (20$) and i will buy the Spirit Bear variant. If i buy a Phoenix Hawk pack, i would like a little bonus, i don't know maybe some camo or modules ?

Such an extravagant cash grab - $85 for 8 versions of a single Mech - is so patently greedy that it actually put me off even buying the cheapest $20 package.

I don't begrudge PGI making money. I have supported MWO to the tune of more than $1K to date. I'd be happy to keep supporting them.

But the more interesting versions of Phoenix Hawk (MASC and ECM) are offered as add-ons. I compare that to the 12 Mechs - 3 variants of 4 different chassis, including 4 that were CBill-accelerated - that I bought in the Project Phoenix Pack, and either of the Resistance Packs.

It's clear that PGI offerings are becoming worse and worse value for money.

So, while I can easily afford to buy all 8 Phoenix Hawks ... instead, I won't buy any.

Maybe this will help PGI refocus its attention on addressing the game's issues and potential, and less time trying to gouge their loyal customer base. In short: fewer Mech skins, more game.

/whale out.

I think many if not most people here can afford it. That is the nice advantage of having a rather old fanbase of settled men instead of kids who spend whatever mom allows.
However, as pretty much everyone said the deal could be more attractive.

Not even faction content! That is lame considering they will surely preview faction camo in the countdown...

I can't afford it! Posted Image Though I may scrounge together the money for the standard pack just to drink up the Early Adopter rewards.

Even if I did have my usual steady stream of income however, this price point would make me shy away. It puts the Phoenix Hawk in direct comparison to the full Resistance 2 and Origins IIC packs, both packs that I purchased and really enjoy. In that company, the Phoenix Hawk just seems really sparse and unexciting. Once I have disposable income I *may* consider the Reinforcements Pack and/or one of the Paul Masters Hero, but that's a big maybe. Compare this to the Marauder, Warhammer, and Rifleman, which I dropped $55 on apiece...

it is realy ridicilously expensive for a single mech pack. I spent quite a fair share of my money but I do not think I will spend money any of these single packages ever.
It looks like PGI comes up with new ways to grab our money. Adding a reinfrocement add-on is a cheap move.

Guys, IMO, 20$ for the basic pack is always the best cost/benefit. You get all the early bonuses, you can master the mech till the other variants come for cbills, by then you will know if its worth or not, it allow you to buy the hero later, if you liked piloting the mech. Buying a mech based on stats is kind a shot in the dark, and 85 bucks is too expensive for a shot in the dark...

Also, they should include high def. versions of the art included in ALL packages, because right now, thats what is selling these packages to us :)

My strategy is to buy them with cbills. That way if it sucks it's nothing out of my pocket except time spent playing, all the quirk escrima is settled, and people are no longer falling over each other to get a [BRAND NEW MECH] kill.

Mandatory comparison:

85$ for 8 mechs----> 10.625$ per mech....and only ONE chassis to design

IIC, resist.2: 80$ for 16 mechs------> 5$ per mechs, and FOUR chassis.

My suggestion:

PXH-2 (Hero-1)
PXH-1B (Hero-2)
PXH-1K (Special)

I get the Hero/Special camos, die early-adopter rewards, die warhorns/items. premium-time etc and have that for.... lets say 35 € // 40 USD, then we have a deal.

Well depending on where you live, and with how Xsolla charges you, in my case the Ultimate pack was $120 Canadian, $35 dollars higher than USD. Now knowing that they charge an exchange rate premium, I saved a little $, as that premium was only applied once, rather than four times, putting it over that $120 CAD.

Not such a fantastic deal for people that pay in USD, but for me, a little savings is good.
