Well, if you compare it to a Jenner, it looks pretty similar in size despite the Jenner having 75% more tonnage than the Lolcust. Jenny is only 5 tons away from being double the weight.

My man would be exploading out of the cockpit if this mech was any smaller

Redesign the cockpit?
Or I would honestly not care, because details like that aren't relevant or impactful in any way during gameplay.
On the bright side, if the Lolcust does get shrunken down, perhaps it would set a standard such that future 20-tonners wouldn't be DOA like the pre-quirk Lolcust was...

wow its going to be a huge immersion breaker when you see a man standing next to it like everybody's been wanting and the cockpit is the size of the man's helmet
Its going to be a physically impossible mech

There's not going to be a little man standing by the cockpit in-game though.
The closest we have to that is the Mechwarrior Academy mech-switch mechanic, but there your pilot gets inserted into the mech via an elevator apparently going up through its crotch.

Like almost all of them? For example, how the heck does a Stalker even stand up?

I highly doubt locust will get shrunk its our smallest tonnage mech at 20 tons. Atlas being the largest at 100 tons.
Those two mechs are the standards to which every other mech is scaled. Its the "zero" on the scale so speak. If you shift the zero the entire current scale system breaks down.

Well, Russ apparently disagrees because he posted that 12% statistic about the Lolcust.
IDK where he's setting the baseline.

I'm just confused about what numbers they're using for their scale... It should be a really simple thing with y = mx + b
where y = volume, x = tonnage... where if x = 20 y = whatever volume the locust is.

Now if the Grand dragon was a 100ton mech this would possible work.
