He wanted 2 LRM 20 or LRM 15.... my statement was in reference to that not working.

Oh... well yeah. that would be extremely difficult and expensive, and while possible, it wouldn't be a viable design. Speed, armor, and firepower are mutually exclusive and with a few exceptions (specialized niches) going extremely out of balance is a bad idea because it will get you killed.

However 2 x LRM 10 is probably within the realm of viability for a specialized role of tiny missile mech. But it will be a niche mech and limited in the situations where it is a viable design..

Ok guys this has been great. A real Meeting of the Mech's.
And it hasnt devolved into dick jokes yet.

Thanks to your advice i think i have a build im happy with.

The philosphy of this mech is to support light scout lances while still being able to engage much heavier mechs from range. This is mainly a harasier, that can scout and flank larger mechs. I do see light mechs being a problem if im unable to soften them up with the lrms, not sure how to change that.

2x LRM 5s W/ 2tons of ammo each. this gives 48 salvos. Should be enough to weather the match.
1x Med Laser as a back up. Would prefer 2x Sml Lasers for the extra damage but not sure on the hardpoints.
And a guardian ECM. This with the 89pts of armour and and a speed of 6/9 should mean ill be hard to spot, hard to hit and should take a couple of knoks (i think) when they get lucky.
To get this, an xl engine, Ferro Fiberus and an endo steel frame are used to save weight.
BV is 521 and the C-Bill cost is 3.1 Mill

EDIT
I got the numbers wrong and can fit it all in. Ive changed the values to refelct this

*Hands a roll of toilet paper*. You're going to need it when you crap yourself on your first atlas encounter.

Will also come in handy for any armor field repairs.

Armor is limited of course on a 25 ton chassis. But then, going solo with an Atlas in almost ANY mech designed for the "support" role should induce spontaneous "pilot bricks", if the Atlas pilot knows his business.
