The message seems quite clear to me. What's the confusion?

This will help and I think fits in with your build style.

you really have 2 options, open fire anyway and damn the team damage, or re-position to get a better shot. i tend to go for option 3, wait while they get killed face tanking and get the kill for myself. when they complain about it say "dont facetank" and watch them ragequit.

I usually try to balance out front rear armor on those kinds of mechs with 30 rear armor and rest to front. SRMS needs to be streaks. Needs more ac20 ammo. At least +5 tons. Also at least 1 er small laser (maybe 2) for late game when you run out of AC 20 ammo.

And legs need more armor.

You know my build was totally in jest right?

Any time you see someone strip the armor from the left eye of an Atlas, you know it is a joke.

Of course, there is where two mechs are about to reach the same nav point but one of the pilots is zoomed in all the way, not watching the minimap and lacking situational awareness. And it is worse when said pilot is in a King Crab or NightStar.

The amount of times I shoot and kill a team mate in CS:GO with an AWP because they run in front of me as the enemy peaks...yeah, there's not a lot of hope.

A simple 'coming through', or even something smart like walking behind me (cause there's room) seems to escape their grasp.

I literally can't see the teammate until its too late while fully zoomed in and there's fractions of a second room for error in that judgement to shoot or not.

Why do people act like the Atlas is so easy to headshot when I have been piloting an Atlas since like 2016 and never once gotten headshot in it?

If they don't get the message, a dual guass will carry it for you. Then people freak out and you get put into time out. To bad this game does not have a idiot button.

In my experience, most of the actual players of MWO can't actually aim worth a damn.... The amount of times I have avoided being hit, by simply running sideways is mind blowing....

I get upset with friendlies ducking into my line of sight. But I think responsibility swings both ways. So I try not to hold it against them and apologize if I TK anyone. Unless of course they're just being greedy and trying to horn in. Then its whatever if they get TKed.

If it keeps happening, I just snuggle on up behind them so they can't back away from the barrage of the enemy's return fire.

Narrow cone of view and stereo sound that doesn't really provide directional information. Hard to maintain area awareness when your looking and listening through a keyhole.

Because it is probably the most well known head hitbox.

The mech itself moves very slowly.

Most that run the thing in quick play run straight forward.

As a bonus you can also stumble across them not moving in the back firing lurms quite often.

So it doesn't happen to you? Congrats, you probably do some basic stuff like twist.

Yeah, so people act like that because it is one of the easiest mechs in the game to headshot.

Don't believe me? Cool, just ask someone with a guillotine title their opinion and get back to me. The couple guys I know that have said the Atlas was a big part of them getting it.

I dont really care too much, if someone steps in front of me they are most likely ignorant of my position (few look at minimap or have any situational awareness except for the big red target in the front), or just want to steal the kill.

In any case, ill just hold my fire unless the guy INSISTS on blocking my fire (its quite obvious when people are intentionally blocking vs accidentally wandered into my fire to take a shot), in which case i dont care if they are friendly or enemy, if they continue to block my ability to engage they will eat a partial alfa into the backside (i try not to kill em, just make em move). If they continue to block me after, they eat 60-80 alfa directly into their rear ST and will either die if XL, or loose half their firepower and thus be useless fodder. If they still dont move, i just put em out of their misery and continue the game as normal.

I know its harsh, but intentional body blockers or those that insist on stoping me from firing the whole game will die. Everyone else i give them a pass since its really unlikely they did it intentionally and are simply unaware of me (or dont care) and just want to poke out in front of me for a sec to get a shot off, after which they pull back into cover and i have a good firing solution to hit whoever they just nailed.
