troll, goon, Paul, I don't care what someone calls you, or you call yourself, play fair, use your sense of humor, and don't take anything to heart (it's a game for crimmeny ) and it's all good, in the end we're all here to have a good time and play some mechwarrior, if you can't laugh when your arena team is composed of several naked gnomes running around with the team name 'Kill us for Points!' then maybe, just maybe, you should see your shrink about your outlook on entertainment ^.^

I dunno, man. Seems silly to me. For a pack of trolls, you folks don't seem so bad at all. Perhaps your level of maturity fluctuates depending on the rise you're trying to incite in people, but for now you seem pretty respectable. Goofy, but respectable.

In my experience their gameplay style makes things more interesting. Sometimes I get tired of the SSDD... they help alleviate that.

Here's the way I see it. To the people whinging like a stuck pig about Goon's use of the Tetatea....they're not the Clans. The IS isn't suddenly going to overrun by a swarm of birds, and the canon storyline isn't going to be rewritten to have a First Turkey of the Squawk League, or an ilChicken, or anything like that, so woooossaaahhh.

As for the trolling, is it really honestly so hard to ignore people over the internet? If they were walking up to you in the street dressed as big bird and yelling squawk in your face, fair enough, that'd be pretty irritating. But if it's on a forum, you can just not read their post. If it's in game, you just /ignore them.

I hold them to the same expectations I have of every other player in MWO : As long as they don't concoct some master plan to make the game/community look bad, and as long as they don't exploit the game, then it's all cool. Also, in fact, I've had a few of my gaming buddies ask me about MWO purely because they've heard of the fact the Goons are getting stuck in and they're now wanting to get involved with MWO now they know more about it....so in a twisted kind of way, it's good for the game. Yes, I know, that made my brain hurt too.

My policy on goons are like the policy on any other person i meet in a game. If they are being impolite and immature i block/kill them. if they are polite and mature i friend them. There is really no need to antagonize them or to let them rile you up. if their behavior sticks in your craw just ignore them or kill them ig with extreme prejudice.

My opinion regarding the goons is indifferent, but from the stories I heard in EVE ... You certainly do not want to mess with a goon.

Anyway my main point is: this is just a game !!! -- If the goons joined us to play then they have every right to be as a consumer, just like you and me. The world will not be divided by 0 and implode if they join in.

Besides, I thought it would be interesting to see some well known names up here.

Am I missing something? Those screenshots of the forum don't show anything damning. They discuss their jokes, so what? They talk about how they're gonna beat you once the game releases, so what? I'm honestly confused as to how anyone could see those screenies as some kind of Assange level whistle blowing. Hell, most of the visibile posts are telling the other goons to chill out! I mean seriously, you guys think you're better than the goons? I'm seeing BS all 'round here.

Umm....Quasimoto, I do take a bit of offense of being called a "Goon" friend. I try to gank them whenever I can in EVE. I am definitely am not their friend. Yet, as a fellow member of the global online community, I can say that while some of them do irk me, I respect the group as a whole. It takes a strong community to keep going year after year with such strong numbers in membership. I have been a part of multiple online gaming groups going back to 1996 and different forums even earlier then that. And I can tell you that all of the ones that I have been apart has fallen apart once the numbers got big. And considering the fact that SA/Goon does bother to hide the fact of some of their "exploits" shows more integrity then most of the people who bash them. Also the fact that you decided to do a personal attack against the OP is something that truly doesn't reflect well on your actions.

Goons. A bunch of jerkoffs, who coincidentally, in EvE, also managed to call out a developer for metagaming with one of the big power blocs, in the process making that game stronger than ever, and perhaps giving it 5 more years of viability.
