What day is best for you to meet this challenge?
Or do you refuse?

Like I already said, after the event. No need to ask me 8 times like a drunken Viking.

You should also have a version of the Centurion-AH. We will play them stock on the 1v1 map on the viking server. No consumables, no configs. When the event is over you are allowed to send me a friend request.

By Thor's frosty phallus those are some ridiculous stipulations.

Forcing both sides to bring stock mechs is pretty dumb from the get-go. Properly utilizing the Mech-lab is at least 30% of this game, if not significantly more; it requires skill, cunning and wisdom with large rewards in-game when used correctly.

It would be far more prudent of you to select a Mech class, and then we both show up in our personal preferences. Your best against my best.

Furthermore, your requirement that I go to my Cent-AH, gut it of the useful components and replace it with some garbage stock-trite is wasteful (bye double heat sink c-bills!), time consuming, and worst of all - impossible to insure compliance. You can say you are running single heat-sinks, but really be running double. Both running trial mechs, for this reason, would make much more sense.

While we are on the topic of the Cent-AH, what a terrible stock mech in the first place. AC-20 and LRM10? At this point I am starting to think you are making ridiculous non-sensical requests up so that, out of disgust, I refuse to commit to this fight and you get to slither away without exposing your inborn cowardice.

Now. I strongly recommend that you choose the weight class and we both take whatever we want from that class. However, if you are afraid I am better at Mech-labbing than you, I think you should at least choose Trial mechs for both of us to drop in.

But, if despite those sound reasons and options I've given you, you still stupidly demand to fight in broken useless mechs that cost C-bills and I cannot even trust you aren't cheating in, then fine.

I'll take your garbage and beat you with it.

I have 3 of them, because I played this game long before you pretended to be a drunk Viking. The 2 spectators can approve the stock loadout for both sides. You want a duel? Then play with the same weapons like me.

Spectators can't verify loadouts.

Why?
That's the word jumping around in my head.
Why the Centurion? its just so random. Why that 'mech?

Like, you didn't even think at all. Like at all. Without hesitation.

I'm just so curious.

It's burning me.

At its face, it's just so apparently random.

But maybe it isn't random at all.

Not even any Centurion. But one specific variant, and one specific loadout.

hmm. Curiouser and curiouser.

Quick join date check:
BSK: 17 Nov 2011
Mech the Dane: 6 Nov 2011

Funny he's actually been doing this longer... You just paid for a pack earlier than he did. And got a special sticky-star

Also: what's with the doofy choice of mech? Stock Cent-AH, really?

Please stop with the drunken viking thing. It might have been funny at first but not does not have any relevance to the discussion.
You are probably well practice in that mech and probably have it elite or even mastered. I thought you wanted an even match. A trial mech or a mech of your choosing would be a much more fair match.

Drama aside I'd still take up Dane on his duel offer. As pirates/mercs the Monitors love a good fight!

In my experience the best tactic for dealing with BSK is ignoring them and moving on.

Did they already make the rounds in Liao territory? In the same manner as here?

We don't want to leave the code of conduct by bad-mouthing a unit, right? Let me also remind you that this is a game and most of us are grown ups. In the opening post I didn't call out the unit name of those 7 members who bullied one of my pilots for not joining your teamspeak server, nor did I use the name of the admin of the latter.

Which was exactly my point why I opened this thread, 7 people all from the same unit with disabled VOIP ignored any friendly attempt of coordination and teamplay. This faction should be more welcoming to people who join their faction, but I had to find the same attitude that we were greeted with during Tukayyid 2. We are very funny guys to hang out with as long as you bring the minimum of respect that human interaction could ask for. If you cannot even bring that, then it's you, not the messenger.

You can see the top speed, the amount of weapons, and this mech has no heat. Yes, Mech the Dane could use upgrades to max out the armor, but I expect him to have some honour. Also he had almost a week to master and train his mech while I went to gain those silly redemptions from the event. Got no green beer so far, maybe that's a sign of bad luck for me?

Spectator slot in a private lobby is not able to see anything but the weight of the teams. You would have to stream your match and show the mechlab to verify loadouts (stock armor values and single heatsinks).

... what kind of drugs are you on? You can get in each players cockpit and see their loadout, their max speed, and their dissipation rate.

That doesn't change that fact that battling with identical loadouts is still ridiculously difficult to enforce and should be avoided, at all costs. You can't enforce trial mechs either, since somebody could own the champion variant and disguise it as a trial mech while giving it modules, better build optimisation, etc.

A duel should be administered by any of the following restrictions:

- anything goes
- a specific weight class
- a specific tonnage
- a specific chassis
- a specific variant
- a specific set of weapons

Anything more specific than that (ie. stockloadout, number of heatsinks, ammo placement, etc) cannot be enforced and therefore shouldn't be used as a restriction in any serious duel, imo.

BSK vs. Isengrim ?

BSK wins, approximate rate of probability 74 %

I´m not really sure if Isengrim can handle DAT AGGRO but am looking forward to this amusing little interlude in the boredom of CW affairs .

Utter troll nonsense. This must be one of NKVA's alt accounts ... I will have to talk with Scoops about this.
