No, leave the examples of PGI screw ups to another thread.

Mine has actually nothing to do with a match.

In order to elevate my PPC firing position, I committed the grave sin of switching my WHM-6R's arm PPC with side torso small laser. When I hit the save button, I got an error message. Something along the line of unable to save load out.

I went, "oh crap, did PGI patched in some loadout restriction when I wasn't looking?".

Turns out it was a dropped connection. Fine. Restart game and let's do it again. Switched the PPC to the torso and queued up for a quick match and was immediately dropped to main menu when match started. Server issue again.

"Crap. That's some serious voodoo going on" I thought.

Logged in again, and was able to Rejoin. But started the match armed with only 2 SLs - all the weapons I was fiddling around with earlier never got saved onto my WHM!

I quickly exited the match, fixed the loadout with PPC in the arm and Rejoined again. Dead. Got dc-killed and the first on the team too.

Needless to say, the PPCs have stayed in the arms ever since. Posted Image I know it's just freak coincidence and network bug but I had to laugh at it afterwards because I used to bag people for doing exactly what I was attempting. Posted Image

I was on canyon network and a Jenner IIC tried to jumpjet across C3, but was sniped mid-air. In death, it pitched forward into a face down position and fell flat on its face, rolled forward onto its back, and then lay there with its feet wiggling.

I laughed for the rest of the match...

I was in my PPC MAD right when it released, Mining Collective. Things are hectic, everyone on both teams are in brawling range at the center, and I'm trying to just stay alive. I get a damage indicator on my rear armor, turn, and there's an Atlas standing exactly 90 meters away. I legitimately screamed in life, fired all my weapons, and then... I noticed that I was being shot by an Ebon Jaguar that was behind the dead Atlas. I headshot the Ebon Jaguar with my missed alpha strike that was aimed towards a long-dead FRIENDLY Atlas. The Ebon Jaguar pilot called hacks until I told him on no uncertain terms that it was a complete accident.

I was in frozen city looking for the last of the enemy mechs with the few of my team left standing.
As I passed a building I turned and and ran straight into an enemy Dragon hiding. Being badly damaged I immediately reversed only to hear the scrape of the side of my mech hitting him....and the explosion that killed him. Apparently his ct was almost gone and our clash finished him off.
Anyway, I bet he wasn't happy.
But then, neither was the last enemy mech (can't remember what it was) who was standing directly behind the Dragon which, after starting to reverse just before it exploded, fell on his teammate who apparently also had a cherry red ct, causing the last enemy mech to also explode.

I often wondered if those dead chassis block shots or just line of sight. Some of the animation seems to show bullets hitting the dead mech but I've also gotten hit when I try to take cover behind one...

They block shots. I've taken cover in the remaining hull of a dead King Crab with my MAD before and none of the shots aimed at me punched through. That's why it's even better that I got a headshot on the guy. I missed the thing I was aiming for.

I was starting a PUG Match on Crimson Strait.

Some guy started saying in chat that "This map is all about the island - we MUST take the island." I protested that really, we should just occupy and hold the upper platform. And that the island offered not much cover, and could be approached from three directions.

But he was adamant.

So my entire team headed off to the island, waited for 5 minutes for the enemy to realise where we were, and then we were promptly slaughtered from three directions.

-----

Dead chassis don't block shots. In fact, that led to another funny moment...

A team mate and I were in Lights, terrorising a Heavy enemy by circle-strafing it.

He killed it a micro-second before I Alpha'd it. My alpha went sailing through the now-dead enemy and TKed him.

Something happened like that to me, only I was fixing my loadout to something else and clicked save(I like to click save after every little edit) then I got put into a match without even clicking the MM button.

I was running around without weapon mods and no radar derp with a build that I haven't got to test out in training.

It did alright but was a little heat heavy, I'm still wondering how I got put into a match without clicking that button because my mouse was near the mechs legs at that moment.

Was on Terra Therma. I was in a Ice Ferret and tried to carry the match using hit and run tactics. Had two players proceed to berate me for "drawing the game out" one even remarked that he was "going to remember his name so i can insta tk him if i ever see him again" i proceeded to report those to aholes.

In a match with me in a super stock UM-R60L on Crimson, Red Team has a KGC pilot talking smack about Urbanmechs. I proceeded to drop through a gap over the docks to land on said KGC and murder it.

Many moons ago, I was piloting a Dire Wolf, and had a red Commando get ontop of me, and slowly killed me....

Back in the bowling days, I rammed my dragon into about 4 mechs in Old Forest colony in the cave. I somehow stayed upright but stuck to the roof and couldn't get down, my foes fell and Urkel bugged (fallen and couldn't get up). Amusing yes, but even more so being that one was an atlas and as my team walked into the cave they would walk on top of him cause a collision and fall as well and get stuck. Nobody could move arms or torsos to aim so eventually we all just had to DC with 4 dead and 4 stuck on each side. Was my first tie game.

There was a brief time back in the day where there was no minimum heatsink limit. Eventually they instituted the 10HS limit but the mechlab didn't enforce it. That meant you could drop into a match with 9 HS and would explode after the countdown. This was back when the only maps were Frozen City and Forest Colony so heat wasn't a super big issue and some people would equip smaller engines and low HS to fit more ammo for LRM boats or dual gauss Catapults. It didn't last long but you could drop into a match and half of both teams (8 man's back then) would just suicide pop.

Tried to JJ up on Hellebore match and an Atlas on team walked under me...I suddenly noticed I was floating towards the enemy and couldn't move or JJ for a good 15 seconds. I was stuck on his head while he was walking and didn't know it until I fell off of him.

My most amusing moment was when I was in Panther. Was just a pug drop, but I had heard and seen once, a light riding atop an assault like a hat. Was my turn, I was attempting to jump over a friendly assault to try to get some shots in on the light, a Jenner, that was trying to kill him, and landed on top of him. There he was, twisting and turning with me on top along for the ride. We killed the light, I legged it, I believe he got the kill. We finished the match like that, I got the last kill will still standing atop him.

was on HPG. was the last mech alive. A Myst Lynx-C with a ER PPC. had the team berate me and one even gave away my position because i was last alive and running away from the enemy...to get a better vantage. Silence fell upon them as i got my fist kill. Words of encouragement slowly crept into chat. Then i got my second kill. Those words became a flood. I racked my third and the team had high hopes that i'd win it. one light verse many assaults. One was a direwolf who had a red CT. i made it my oath to kill him before i die. Alas he was my fourth and final kill.

Here's the stats from that match: http://images.akamai...1CC3F145689EE2/
