He didn't see me and was standing still sniping so I walked up to about 50m stopped and let him have it.
Been noticing a lot of hit reg issues but this one was just glaring.

Just before the trolls come in and have their say Joe, heres my only tip.
Even if you are behind the light, unless you have a 70+ Alpha, aim your alpha to the leg.
Then you've ruined their day

Or that they never have trouble hitting lights because their uber-good.
Or maybe obviously you never play lights because their uber fragile.
Even though that Arctic Cheeter just managed to kill 4 mechs in a match with barely a damn scratch.
And then they will give you a salutatory "git good".
And maybe even a smiley emoticon.

PSR is a portion of their MM system in which the team that is supposed to lose receives a nerf to their weapons hit reg on enemy mechs. At the same time the PSR is modified for the decidedly victorious team in which their weapons roll a crit more often. Hence why you lose when your LRM 10 gets one shot right after they take the armor off your mech while their Gauss Rifle remains intact up until the point you blow their side torso off... assuming you last long enough to do so.

Welcome to the Raven's Debut when it's hit boxes were broken EVERY game like that, making it a pita to kill.
Now it's more rare.

Did I cover everything? :-)
But seriously, sometimes the magic wheel turns, a hamster dies, and hitreg goes to hell in a handbasket. Not to mention the rubberbanding :-)

I hate having to correct this so often...
The Closed Beta Raven's extreme durability was not caused by hitboxes. It was made supernaturally tough by nature of the game's netcode and hit registration sucking balls, which was compounded by the fact that HSR wasn't even added to the game yet.
This benefitted all lights actually, but the Raven 3L had the lucky combination of ECM + Streaks that allowed it to effortlessly wreck enemy lights while being immune to enemy Streaks itself. The Commando 2D was the second best light mech for these same reasons, but it had less weight to work with so it was a peg lower in the pecking order.
A few months before HSR got added, PGI increased the size of the Raven's leg hitboxes to exceed the size of the visual model. Basically, "Ghost Legs." I'm not sure if they got around to restoring them down to normal size yet...
...But the point is that these issues aren't always hitboxes, and it's sad that every time some kind of issue occurs people always say BROKEN HITBOXES!!!1! without considering other factors such as that crappy netcode/hitreg mentioned earlier.

Been saying something like this myself for some time now. The further in the past the last patch is, the worse hitreg is. They seriously need to just do rolling server reboots or something twice a week. Probably Monday or Tuesday, and Friday. Take down the EU server for maybe an hour, after it comes back up do the NA server, and finally the Oceania server. This way people should still be able to play during maintenance.
