Hello, as a now paying player, I wanted to throw my hat into the ring of suggestions for the future of the game. I will start off by saying I have been playing since the beta (ish) in 2012, but am now able to contribute financially to the game. I am so glad there is a modern Mechwarrior game, and I don't see myself leaving any time soon.
That being said, I am far from being a "whale", usually limiting myself to about 20 dollars a month (CAD) to games. Considering that everything for MWO is USD, it makes me have to think extra hard about what/when I am going to buy something.
So to start, here are some suggestions for more content for more budget conscious players like me:
1.) Some sort of random mech pack. Supplemented with extras (colours, hangers, modules, patterns, etc). The premise of this would be to work based somewhat on the content packs you get with some of the current mech packs but on a bit of a degraded level.
So a person would buy this random mech pack (in the weight class) and get one random mech and mech bay (which would include Heros and Champions at a lower percentage). With this random mech they would receive something like 1 colour and 1 hanging item and 1 module (or pattern, war horn, days of premium time, etc). The glory of it is that there are so many extras out there that they can all be interchanged and be completely random, yet still be likely of some use to the player.
As the weight class (and subsequent cost of the pack goes up), you can add 1 more extra for it to still be enticing. So a Light Random Mech Pack would be 7-12 USD and include 3 random extras. A medium would cost the 12-18 include 4 extras. Etc.
For me, as a budget player, being able to supplement those little extras to my account AND get a new mech to play at a fairly competitive price definitely would have me dropping more dollars on the game more often. If the pricing is competitive to buying a mech straight up with MC.
Adding some sorts of discount random colour/pattern packs would be a boon as well. I would love to drop 5 dollars on a pack that gets me 2-3 colours to paint my mech with.
Secondly I would like to touch on replay-ability. This includes game modes/achievements and other things like that to raise the replay value of the game. Keep me coming back for more.
On achievements: The lack of real updates for achievements since they became active is a lost opportunity. At the very least, new achievements could have been added for CW, as well as a few other times. Achievements are a great way of setting goals in a relatively goalless game (long term). You get those achievement hunters, and the folks who see something to aim for. Besides grinding... and grinding... and grinding for assists and kills and such. I am at a point in my achievement list where I don't even care about it. I will get there when I get there, if I ever get there.
So, I think adding more challenging, yet fun, achievements would definitely help the game's replay value, in fact I have come up with some of my own to help out:
David Vs. Goliath: Using a medium or a light mech, earn a solo kill on an Assault Mech.
Flyswatter: Using an assault mech (solo?)kill X (2,3,4?) light mechs in one game.
The Black Knight: Kill a mech by destroying all of its arms and legs.
The Hat Trick: Get 3 solo kills in one game.
Hot Streak: Get 10 kills in 10 straight games.
See what I did there?: Without using weapons, get at least 5 assists in one game. (NARC, Tag, Spotting, ETC.)
To add to there, more tracking achievements would be great. Things like Kill X lights/Mediums/Heavies/assaults.
On game modes:
Adding more game modes hasn't been so much of a problem, as CW is fun and I am sure there are more plans for different ones in the future. Here is one I would like to see.
Free For All. Make it a separate que from regular quick match, and the player with the most kills at the end of the game wins. Players can still assist on other players kills. Ties are broken by damage done.
That is all I have for now, if anyone would like to add anything, I would love to hear it. And I hope that this post does make it somewhere. Thanks for reading!

this game desperately needs more ways to make c-bills. not because they are hard to accrue when you are good at the game, but because the way people earn c-bills is so stupidly one dimensional.
Personally, I'd love to see more support oriented ways to earn c-bills. Ams coverage, ECM, tag etc. *and simply saying they have tag already is just avoiding the fact that it only helps with lrms, and since when the meta doesnt favor them, almost no one uses them, there is no reason to equip them if they ONLY benefit one of 6 different styles of weaponry.*
